KIM  SEOKJIN

...earlier that day...

He heard the echo loud and clear. A sound that rang in his ears, like a church bell. He couldn't see the person causing the echo but he knew they were there. It wasn't just the echo he sensed but an imprint, like a sign that screamed,"Hey I'm dead and have a deadly secret, wanna know?"

Whoever Yoongi was talking to, Jin knew that he must not know his backstory. Jin watched the slight shift in Yoongi's eyes, the way he quickly looked beside him and back. That was all the evidence Jin need to prove he was right.

Jin thought of his ability as more of an nuisance than a gift. When he comes across someone dead, the echo they leave nullifies all his senses till all he can hear is the person's soul begging and pleading for closure. That's when Yoongi's ability would come in handy.. Jin maybe be able to locate a dead soul but talking to them was a different story. The echo felt like a burning fire, his skin would prickle like a thousand needles, the waves and waves of nauseous dizziness would evade his stomach.

He couldn't stop thinking about it then. Just who exactly is Yoongi talking to? Just who is Min Yoongi?

After Yoongi had left, Jin wondered about it even more. Yoongi was mysterious to a point where Jin thought about it for most of the day. You could say he might have slight feelings for him, but Yoongi was just.. different. He had to ask Namjoon though, knowing that they were roommates.

Namjoon shook his head,"He likes to keep to himself."

That was expected of Yoongi. And it was expected to be difficult for answers too.

...present time...

Jin couldn't sit in his seat any longer. It's been almost an hour and no sign of the mint haired boy. Jin started to think that Taehyung might have given him hell in the hallways but soon he decided to just get up and check for himself.

"I'll be back." Jin glanced at his brother but he was scribbling words onto a piece of worn notebook paper, headphones practically infused to his ears. He was still at it again, all that music he makes- just talent that he was wasting away. Not that he could do anything with it in a house for disturbed teens, but even before that he refused to make it public.

The hallways were clear, no sign of Taehyung let alone anyone for that matter. He quickly made his way into the basement and he took a deep breathe waiting for what could be waiting.

"Yoongi?" He called, his voice slightly shaky as he turned the corner only to find nothing. The basement looked the same, expect Yoongi's blood stained clothes. If Jin didn't wash it soon, it would be a nightmare to try and explain it to Dr. Ahn later. Although even if Tae did get a violation, his dad would sure somehow convince them to let him stay, he always does.

Jin was about to retrace his steps back the way he came but the familiar waves of pain  washed over his body again. Multiple echoes all at once, something he never felt before. It was overwhelming, he tensed up and his breath caught in his throat. He struggled to breath and maintain his posture but he failed, falling to the ground.

Immediately he looked to his right to the latch door. He never noticed so many echos before, no matter how many times he's been down to do laundry. He didn't have to search for it, the echos were strong, loud and clear but what caused such a disturbance? He could only think of one thing- Yoongi.

Jin struggled to crawl over to the door, pain ripped through his whole body. It felt like someone was trying to pull each one of his limbs out of socket. Groaning in agony, he finally touched the door and Yoongi's own echo sounded. It was faint like the sound of a music box, but it was muffled mostly by the other angered souls. It made him sigh in relief to know Yoongi was there but then he panicked knowing that whatever was in there might have hurt him for his echo to become faltered.

Jin unlocked the door making a mental note to talk to a certain someone later.

Yoongi's black converse stuck out, his upper body wasn't visible but Jin grabbed his ankles, pulling with whatever strength he had left. Yoongi slide out, due to the sweat and mud that now covered his body. He looked up with pure terror in his eyes that told Jin he needed more than just comforting.

As soon as Yoongi's feet hit the basement floor, the echos stopped. Gone, within a heartbeat.

"So.. you going to tell me what happened?" Namjoon impatiently tapped his foot on the wood flooring. He had flipped a chair around and straddled it, hoping for a good story.

"It was probably nothing, Namjoon." Jin looked irritated by this time, like a parent that had to bring his 5-year-old kid to Walmart and needed to leave early due to a whining tantrum in the middle of the aisle,"He doesn't have to explain."

Namjoon rolled his eyes, his voice rising,"Probably nothing?! Jin, look at him!"

"It has to be Tae's work, lets leave it at that."

"It's always Tae. I should teach him a lesson." Jin didn't even try to stop his brother as he stormed out of the room. He was more concerned about Yoongi.

..And the unknown echo under the bed.
