Alex is furious as he scurries through his things in search of a decent attire to wear. I told him about the job offer that Kit had opened up for him and ever since then he's been upset. Alex just can't believe that I went running to Kit for help.
"If this is what you want then I'll do it for you," he groans deeply as he grabs a navy blue t-shirt from a pile of dirty clothes.
I walk to his side where I grab the shirt from his grasp. "I'm sorry," I mumble.
Truly I am sorry, I never meant to crush his ego. I never meant to take this pride away from him. Alex rolls his eyes and pauses. He stares into my eyes where I for the first time I am able to see his insecurities.
"I know love, you are just trying to help," he bobs his head up and down as his hands caress my cheeks.
I summoned a smile quickly as I hand him a fresh dress shirt. "This is only temporary until you can find yourself another job," I remind him as I walk away preparing myself also for the day ahead of me.
Yeah temporary indeed.
A week here and a week there until he is able to get back on his feet and find his place. It's not that I do not want him to stay, but, I don't want him to stay.
"Are you ready," I ask him as I look over my shoulders to see what pair of pants that he's decided to wear.
"All ready," he sings as he puts his best face on. I know that he despises the idea of working with Kit and for Kit. But right now he is fighting hard not to upset me as we both walk out of my apartment and head downstairs to my car.
"Thank you," I hear him speak, but instead of acknowledging him, I ignore him as we enter the vehicle.
