I love you|| chapter 3

Lexa's POV

I like Derek but I only dated one person and that is Costia, she's a female and I know I'm gay but maybe I'm bisexual I spent the last two months getting food and water for him since Indra and the guards had no intentions of feeding him or giving him water.

Sometimes at night I'll hear him cry for his sister Clarke to help him but since Indra feed him the hallucinogenic mushrooms they made him go through torture only strong minded people can survive. Yet he doesn't break for the sake of his sister, he hallucinated killing his friends and parents but not his sibling Clarke, I wonder what drives him to stay sane. If I was in that position I'd be broken in the first month I'm not as strong minded as Derek.

"I love you Lexa" when I hear those words it shook me from my thoughts, I then am only to see Derek standing up with his forehead pressed against mine. "I love you too" I say as placed a soft kiss on his lips, he looks down at me and smiles that smile it's worth the walk to the city of light and back.

I knew at this moment he loves me and hopefully he means it unlike Costia, she broke me emotionally at first it felt like no one else existed with her but then she left me for someone else. Since then I thought that love was weakness but since I met Derek I found out it only gave me strength.

As the night pressed forward I left and had to chain him up again which I felt bad about doing. I only heard silence for the first 2 hours I was gone but it started again but it sounded he was in more pain then he was before, then his crying and pleads for forgiveness and saying he's sorry started. The crying and screaming is still happening and I want to help him but if I do my people will think I'm weak then they'll have me killed and a new commander will rise. "I can't choose between my best friend and sister please let them go!" When I heard Derek say those words I felt sick because his friends and family was his weakness.

I run down stairs and see a blonde hairs girl with flawless skin and a guy with curly hair and looks shorter then Derek. Then I hear Titus say "you must kill one of them and then you shall be set free", I want to intervene but I'm frozen in shock as he is about to make a decision which may destroy Derek mentally or make him stronger, Derek is unpredictable at times like now I love that part of him ALOT.

"You must choose and if you can't choose either then they'll both die and everyone you've met will die too" I hear Titus say "no I can't kill them because if I do I'll be eaten alive by my guilt, I'll become a monster if I kill one of them" Derek says as he cries "then he dies" Titus says as he slits his best friends throat, "Noooo Miller!!" Derek cries as he looks at Clarke "bring out the leader of his people" Titus says as he brings out the so called 'leader' of his people. "Bellamy?" Derek says sadly.

Bellamy? Oh yes I remember now Derek told me that they were best friends since birth and they've done everything for each other he and Derek killed the leader of the "guard" . If Derek choses one he'll lose one of them and as Derek told me they both mean the world to him.

As Titus chains Bellamy to the chair next to Clarke, Derek struggled to try and break off the legs of the chair he is sitting on but fails. "You must choose your best friend? Or sister?" Titus says with a evil grin. I enter the room completely "Titus you don't have to do this let them go now" I say as I plead for his friend, sisters lives. "No Lexa in order to break a prisoners spirit you must make him kill one of the people he needs the most" Titus says as he places a gun on the table next to him.

"I can't do this, I can't do this...it's all fake...it's just those mushrooms" Derek says as he attempts to calm down but ends up looks up and realizing it's real. "I love you Clarke" Derek says as he closes his eyes for a short few seconds then opens them but then he looks at his best friend as if he was a stranger. "I choose my best friend" Derek says with no emotion or regret then Titus smiles and unchains Derek and hands him a gun but Derek turns around and shoots Titus in the head.
