Prologue
I felt for the night wind as I prepared myself to shoot. I counted to three then released the ball in my hands. The winds whooshed as the ball flew into the air and went through the basket.
It has always felt so right playing ball at night without the scorching sun burning my skin. No one disturbs me, too. It's so quiet and peaceful. Especially now that the whole neighborhood is asleep.
I laid on the ground as I caught my breath after running around the court with the ball in my hands. I closed my eyes and felt the coldness of the ground.
The tranquil night was broken as my phone rang for an incoming call. I arouse from the ground and reached for my phone.
"Kyle!" My little brother's voice blasted from the phone before I could even say anything.
"Hi, Cole. What's up?"
"Mom needs your help with something, I dunno. When're you coming home?"
I sighed. "I'm on my way," I told him then hang up.
I began to walk the way home with my ball in my hands, ang hummed with the winds.
The bushes not far from me rustled which made me stop dead on my tracks. The night almost made everything around me pitch black if not for the lights scattered around the neighborhood.
I searched for anything that might've caused the bushes to rustle, I mean, the wind is not really strong enough to cause any sudden movements.
There I saw a pair of golden eyes, looking directly at me. For a moment I couldn't move, almost as if the most enchanting eyes I've ever seen paralyzed me.
Before I could react, a white furry creature launched at me, which made me close my eyes and fall to the ground with it on top of me. I even felt its fur, so thick and smooth. Even heard its soft growl.
A dog?
Then I heard a cracking sound. Like, cracking of bones. Wait, bones? Shit, did I break my bones?
I groaned in pain when I finally felt the impact of my fall, especially with the heavy weight pinning me to the ground. Too scared to even move, I waited for the dog to make its move. But all I heard are the soft pants of the thing above me. Now that I've noticed, gone was the furry feeling I felt when it launched at me. I felt warm skin brushing against me. Skin? No. That can't be. I'm pretty sure it has fur.
Gathering my courage, I opened my eyes to see the whatever creature that's on top of me. I was then strucked by the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She was looking intently at me with her sparkling gray orbs. Her pair of pinkish lips were open because of her short pants. She has an amazing long white hair. White? Now that's cool.
Wait, who the heck was this girl?
And where was the white dog I saw awhile ago?
