I felt a shake and a sudden blow on my face before I opened my eyes. "Kyle! Wake up!"

I sat up straight and looked around the somehow familiar room. "What the heck?!" I said rather groggily, still stunned from the low blow I received from a pillow, I assume, that Lila used to wake me up. I remembered I stayed the night in Lila's house and I slept in their guest room, as usual. My eyes landed on Lila and instantly narrowed when I saw her almost on the floor, laughing her ass off.

"Oh my... <Laugh> Kyle... <Laugh> That was so... <Laugh> Hilarious! <Laugh> Your face! <Laugh>"

My eyes narrowed more on her. The nerve. You should not laugh at someone's face after you hit them with a pillow when they're in a peacful slumber. Ever.

"I'm glad you find this situation amusing," I spat sarcastically and full of venom. If she won't stop laughing in the next minute she's gonna see something coming.

She must've felt my oncoming wrath as her eyes bulged and she immediately bit her lip to stifle her laughter.

I rolled my eyes at her and flopped back to bed. I closed my eyes and instantly my mind was filled with images of Reign grief-stricken.

Damn it! It's like it's freaking tattooed on my eyelids!

Lila huffed. "Why so grumpy?" I felt my right side of the bed dipped and creaked because of her added weight.

"Nothing. Didn't get much sleep," I grumbled.

"I see. Were you thinking of something?" she asked.

"Nothing in particular," I decided to lie. I don't want her nosy attitude bugging me all day.

She scoffed. "Whatever. Well, I actually woke you up because if you won't we're gonna be late. Come on!" she rose from her sitting position and grabbed my arm. "You have to get up now! Come on! Mom cooked pancakes, you know," she said while pulling me up. I realized she was already dressed for school when I looked up at her. Pancakes sound nice so I stood up.

My head throbbed as I walked on my way to my next class. For an unknown reason my head suddenly hurt when I stepped inside the school. Must be from my lack of sleep and the continuous buzzing of students around me.

It ached more when I realized that Reign is nowhere in sight. I still haven't seen her and the day is already halfway through. I wonder where she is. I'm beginning to worry since our parting last night wasn't so good.

Is she upset with me that's why she skipped school?

Or is she sick and alone at home?

Or what if something bad happened to her last night?!

My feet automatically stopped and my head throbbed even more at the last thought.

Dammit! I dreaded the last option. I knew it was dangerous! What if someone took her? Or someome harmed her? Shit, I would find that someone if ever she is hurt! What if she's still out there needing help but I'm right here thinking of morbid things when I should be out there looking for her?!

Damn! This thinking of 'what ifs' is making my head spin. I'm going crazy!

I instantly jumped when someone touched my shoulder. Looking over my shoulder I saw my friend, Matt, and Lila.

"Man, you're jumpy. What's the matter?" Matt said.

I shook my head to clear my mind which made my headache even worse. "Nothing. Just spaced out," I reasoned.

"You look tensed. Are you okay?" asked Lila.

"Yeah. Just a bit of a headache. Hey, have you guys seen Reign?"

Lila frowned, "No. She's not in my fourth class where she was supposed to be. She wasn't in our History awhile ago too, remember? She must've skipped school or something."

"Reign Fang? The hot new girl with white hair?" Matt asked and I nodded. "I only got gym with her and that's my last class. So I haven't seen her yet. Why?"

I shrugged and casually answered, "I was only curious." The late bell is about to come off so I began walking my way to next class. Matt and Lila walked with me, too.

"She's hot, isn't she? Man, her white hair is so cool! Heck, even her gray eyes are like seducing me or something. Plus she runs so fast she can even beat all the boys! We're not even insulted, man. She's so freaking awesome!" Matt kept on rambling but I only kept an ear open for him. I noticed Lila kept glancing at me and I know she knows I'm bothered with something.

I'm still worried about what happened to Reign. If she won't show up up until the school's over, I'm going to look for her myself.
