Chapter 3

Dumbfounded, I completely forgot how long I was staring at her. My reverie only stopped when I heard my name called.

"Kyle! What's wrong?" asked Lila. She looks confused and for a while I forgot what's happening.

I mean, come on! She's here! Right in front of me!

I cleared my throat before answering, "Yeah. I'm okay." I smiled at her to make sure I am okay.

I heard a low growl from beside me so I turned to look. She was scowling at me and Lila. She looks ready to bite something.

What's wrong with her?

"Um... Hi! I'm Lila. What's your name?" Lila asked from my left.

She glanced at Lila then scowled at her. She rolled her eyes then looked ahead.

That surprised me. I didn't know she was hostile, what with the kiss she gave me when she saw me.

"It's nice to meet you too," Lila murmured sarcastically.

The whole period passed without me ever talking again, and Mr. Richards never showing up. I'm still awestruck of her sudden appearance. I kept looking at her because honestly, I still can't believe she's right here.

A few of my classmates tried talking to her, especially the boys, but she never uttered a single word. They don't seem to mind, though. I believe they're pretty amazed at her hair, still as white as I remembered. I heard someone asked her if it's dyed or something.

After the class, Lila, some of our friends, and I went to the cafeteria. We ordered some snacks and went to our usual table. A few seconds passed and our table is already so noisy. I laughed at a joke Brad just said but suddenly stopped when someone held my hand. The tingles I felt startled me but I was more startled when that someone pulled me and started walking away. Everyone from the table stopped talking too and just watched me being pulled away.

I immediately knew who was pulling me when I caught a glimpse of white hair.

It's her.

We suddenly stopped and the next thing I know, her lips are already on mine.

I stopped myself from kissing her back and pulled away. The look on her face and the whimper she made made me regret pulling away so I explained myself.

"Wait, no. I... want to know. Why are you always kissing me? Who... who are you?"

She bowed her head and I waited for a few seconds. She then raised her head and looked at me. Her look strucked me. She was looking at me with so much intensity; so tender and soft.

"I am Reign Fang. And you're my ma--" she suddenly stopped and her face flushed.

She has a lovely voice.

"What? I'm your what? What's wrong?"

"Um... Nothing."

"Oh, okay. By the way, I'm Kyle," I smiled at her.

She looked at me and smiled her beautiful smile. "I know."

We stayed quiet for a while but she decided to ask something.

"So... Can I kiss you now?"

Her question caught me offguard. And I laughed when I realized what she just asked. I laughed harder when I saw her face. She can't be serious! Oh. This girl sure is strange.

But I can't help myself anyway. "Okay," I smiled at her which made her blush.

Secretly, I was actually hoping she would do just that.
