Right after I helped Mr. Carter pushing his car to his garage, I rushed to my room. I was afraid she would get discovered. But I found her sitting right where I left her. Hmm... How docile.
I locked the door again so Mom would not be able to enter.
"Hey," I muttered. Instead of returning to my previous sit, I sat beside her at the end of my bed.
She raised her head to look at me and smiled. "Hi."
"So... Where were we? Oh, yeah. Why were you looking for me? Do you need something?"
"No. I don't. I guess I just wanted to see you," she said but lowered her eyes.
"Why?"
"I... I dunno," she raised her eyes and stared at mine.
I marvelled at how beautiful her gray eyes were. They look so hypnotizing. I scan her face, memorizing every little detail. Something inside me stirred as my gaze stopped at her full lips. My heart began to hammer with just thinking how soft those lips were. I was so enthralled with everything while staring at her eyes that I didn't notice my face lowering to meet hers, not until I was already an inch away from her face.
My eyes closed right after my lips touched hers. My mind was reeling as we kissed. I can't seem to think about anything, only how soft and warm her lips were.
I bit her lower lip, seeking for entrance. She moaned - which aroused me greatly, by the way - and opened her mouth. Her arms circled my nape and she pulled on my hair while mine circled her waist and pulled her closer. Our kiss was growing more intense and aggressive by the second and I was afraid I can't stop, even when I felt I was running out of breath. She's so irresistable.
I opened my eyes to look at her but stopped dead when her eyes opened too and they flashed gold.
What the...?!
I pulled away immediately and sat up, blinking hard. My brows furrowed when I saw her eyes were perfectly normal. They were blinking at me, as gray as I could remember. I shaked my head to clear my mind. What the heck did I just see?
"What's wrong?" she asked, still breathless from our kiss.
"Oh. Uh... Nothing," I told her. "I just thought I saw something." I sat beside her again but I was still looking at her eyes carefully.
Did I just imagine it? But why would I imagine such thing? I wasn't thinking about anything. Well yeah, I was thinking how soft her lips were. But no matter how perverted that thought was, that's no reason to imagine a pair of golden eyes in replace to her gray ones.
"Are you okay?" she asked, concerned perhaps with the way I was looking at her.
I shook my head again, willing myself to get a grip. "Yeah. I'm fine. I'm sorry. I don't know what's gotten into me," I said, suddenly embarassed with the way I acted. I acted ridiculously. I mean, who suddenly imagines a pair of golden eyes in the middle of a heated moment?
An awkward silence emanated and somehow I can't look straight to her eyes. I kept looking at the floor. To be honest, I don't even know what to do next after our make-out session and my rather stupid act of pulling away.
I was saved by the bell when my phone came off from an incoming call. I reached for the phone on top of my bedside table and stood near my window. It was Lila.
"Hey, Lila. What's up?" I asked, still looking at the floor.
From the corner of my eyes I saw Reign suddenly looked up.
"Kyle! Oh thank goodness! I was afraid you wouldn't answer. I thought you wouldn't be near your phone since you're probably playing ball," she answered.
"Yeah, well, I'm at home. I'm not playing ball right now. Why?"
"Oh, I see. Well, I need your help with something," she said and I can already imagine her biting her lip.
"Okay. What is it?"
"Can you come over here for a while? I need help with Calculus. It's so freaking difficult! I've been working on it for hours! Please! You can sleep over here! I bought chocolate chip cookies!" she said rather fastly. She does this all the time, talking fast, that is. Especially when she needs something. And she tends to bribe me with my favorite foods. Sneaky brat.
I laughed at her. "Fine. I'll be there in twenty minutes."
"Oh thank you Kyle! I love you so much!"
"Whatever, Lila. I'm hanging up."
"Okay, bye! See you in twenty!" and she hung up before I do. That girl. I said I'm hanging up.
I was almost startled when I saw Reign already standing and is frowning at me.
"Oh hey. I'm sorry. That was Lila. You remember her, right? The girl I was with at school?" I told her and went to my study table to gather my things.
From my peripheral vision I saw her nod her head.
"Well, she needs my help so I'm coming to her house." I packed some of my clothes, too.
"But what about me? You'll leave just like that just for her? Who is she, anyway? You can't leave." Her voice is rising with every word she says.
I looked at her incredulously. "Yes, I can. She's my bestfriend. And I don't even know you," I said. I was kind of insulted. I mean, she can't just demand things like that from me.
I was taken aback when her face suddenly resembled rejection and hurt. She looks like she was about to cry. Something tugged my heart at the view so I immediately looked away.
"You should probably leave. It's getting darker outside. It's not safe for a girl like you," I told her as I continued to stuff things in my bag.
"Okay," she spoke with a low voice and her head bowed.
I watched her climb on my window and onto the roof of our patio.
"Be careful," I called to her.
She looked into my eyes and nodded her head. She even smiled at me, which made me regret what I told her. I honestly think I know her. Like, even for a short period of time, I felt like I've known her my whole life.
When she was gone, I really felt like I made a big mistake saying those words.
