Chapter 14

  Niall had a firm grip of my waist as he helped me back into a standing position. We had sat on the couch as I waited for my ability to heal finish before I stood. I caught him catching glimpses of me often as I leaned my head against the back of the couch for support. Once we were standing, I tried pushing at his arm but he held it hard like a rock in place. I groaned in frustration and crossed my arms over my chest like a child throwing a tantrum. I felt his chest rumble as he laughed causing my heart to flutter. Why do I feel this way?

  "Stephanie! Pia! Liam! We need to go get Maria!" Niall called out through the house and soon after I heard footsteps approaching with my sensitive hearing. I turned to look at Niall to see a triumphant smirk spread across his lips before he met my eyes and his smile grew. I rolled my eyes letting out a huff of annoyance and facing forward with a scowl.

  I wonder if he thought that he finally found a weakness for Superman? Which it most likely is true, but I can fend for myself just fine. I don't need my brother for help all the time. I love him and appreciate his help and effort to keep me safe, but sometimes a brother can be a brother if you know what I mean.

  All three of the villains soon entered the room and stood in front of us awaiting orders. "Pia, you stay here. Stephanie and Liam, you both come with me." They all nodded in understanding and Pia left the room. "Stephanie, you take Liam and use your speed to get there. I'll take her and fly." "I have a name you know." Niall looked down at me with the same smirk plastered across his face. "I know." 

  Niall carried me to the door by my waist lifting me off the ground. I still had my arms crossed over my chest childishly. "If we can get out of this without fighting that will be our best option. Knowing Louis though, since it involves his sister, we will get out without fighting. If anything goes wrong though, Liam, you have your swords and Stephanie, you have your guns." 

  They nodded and Stephanie got in a stance for speed while Liam hopped on her back. I laughed at them and they whipped their heads in my direction. "What?" I asked innocently still chuckling to myself. I felt Niall's chest vibrate with laughter and he shook his head. "Oh, would you two shut it. We'll meet you there." Stephanie hissed before taking off like lighting.

  I turned to look at Niall and he set me on the ground. "That was pretty funny." He chuckled as he spoke which caused a smile to arise on my face. I nodded in agreement and uncrossed my arms. He took a step forward and wrapped an arm around my waist tightly. "You may want to hold on." I know from experience with my brother and playing when we were little that I did want to hold on. I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck and a thought crossed my mind. I wonder if I squeezed tightly enough if he'd die. An evil smirk played on my lips causing him to look at me curiously. Niall shook his head and I loosened my grip slightly as the thought danced around in my head. But if he died while I was in the air then we both would die. I huffed and shook the thoughts from my mind.

  "Ready?" I nodded and he bent his right knee on the ground. The next thing I know we were soaring through the air like a plane towards my house.
