A shooting pain going across my back woke me from my unconscious state. A painful groan escaped my lips as I slowly fluttered my eyes open. They screwed shut as light seeped through them before slowly adjusting to the change. I looked around to find myself lying on my stomach on my bed. I turned my head to the side to see that I was now in my room and a shadow appeared from the corner. Niall stood tall with his arms crossed over his broad chest and a look of concern etched in his features.
I slowly pushed myself up as pain increased in my back.I gasped and my arms wobbled beneath me. I felt strong arms wrap around my waist gently holding me up before I fell. He lifted me up and turned me around so that I was sitting up and facing him. I looked down after he removed his arms to find a bandage wrap around my entire front and all along my back.
"How are you feeling?" I lifted my head to meet his worry filled gaze. "Pain." I croaked out. My throat was extremely dry and felt as though I had been asleep forever. I reached to my bedside table carefully and picked up a glass of water sitting there. The cold liquid glided down my throat leaving me with a more refreshed feeling. I took a deep breath before releasing it and setting the glass back on the table. "How long was I out?" He looked down at the ground before meeting my green eyes once again. "Two days."
My eyes widened at the realization that I have been unconscious for two whole days. Niall is in the same house that Louis lives in. How is that even possible? How are they okay?
"Where's Louis?" A frown pulled at his lips but he quickly hid it, probably hoping it had gone unnoticed. "I'll go get him." I nodded gratefully and he sent a small smile my way before leaving the room.
The last thing I remember was Liam slashing me with his sword across my back and falling while people shouted out to me. I wonder if those people were Louis and Niall. Why would Niall care about me though? He is the villain and he did kidnap me. He even said once a villain, always a villain. So, why is he acting so concerned about me now? I wonder if Louis knows.
I heard a soft knock on the door before it slowly opened to reveal my older brother. A smile found its way onto my lips and he returned it stepping fully into the room. "Hi." He walked over and sat in front of me on the edge of my bed. "How're you feeling?" I shrugged but soon found out that that was a huge mistake. I winced and he looked at me sorrowfully. "I'm sorry this happened." I shook my head. "It's not your fault."
He looked down so I decided to change the subject. "Why am I not healing?" A low growl escaped his lips causing my eyes to widen. "Because the blades that Liam uses to fight with have a special resistance to the power of healing. So, if you are cut by one of the blades, your healing ability won't kick in." I nodded in understanding.
The thought swirled around in my mind once again. I took a deep breath. "Louis, why does Niall even care about me?" He visibly stiffened before looking up with darkness pooling into his bright blue eyes. He took a deep breath before slowly releasing it. "Super people, they have people that are meant to be with them. The people that are meant to be with supers are called equals. The super can be a villain or a superhero, as long as they were born with powers." He took another deep breath before meeting my eyes.
"You are Niall's equal."
