All the stuff that happens in this chapter happens at the same time, so each pov is going on at the same time except for the first one's little bit.
Enjoy!!!
HICCUP'S POV
She should have been back by now. I glance toward the entrance of the cave where hail thunders onto the ground. I wish I could go out and look for them, but I can't muster the energy to get up, let alone go back into that storm. It's getting harder to breathe, to think, to feel.
I close my eyes.
Toothless comes to me and lays down next to me, as if to comfort me.
I soon am unaware of my surroundings and fall into a deep sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm awoken by the sound of squawking dragons and footsteps padding across the cold stone floor.
I try to sit up, and somehow manage to get to a sitting position by the time they reach the point of the cave I sit at.
Astrid comes over to me with an annoyed look on her face.
"Hiccup, you should have let me help you." She said, frowning at me.
"Hey, Hiccup, you should have SEEN this skeleton we found. It was totally awesome. Best part of this trip by far." Tuffnut said, not giving me a chance to respond to Astrid.
"More importantly, though, we found dry wood that we can use to make a fire." Heather said, hitting Tuffnut over the head.
"Oh, yeah, that too." Tuff said, straightening his helmet and unloading his wood onto the ground as Heather and Ruff did the same.
"Toothless, plasma blast." I said, pointing meekly at the wood on the ground.
The cave was illuminated by the soft glow of the fire.
Astrid sat down next to me, while the others sat on the opposite side of the fire.
After everyone had warmed up a considerable amount, they eventually got bored.
"I'm going exploring." Tuffnut declared before marching off into the depth of the tunnel.
"I'd better go with him, just so that he doesn't get lost." Heather said before getting up and walking away with Windshear.
"Someone needs to look for more wood. We don't know how long we're going to have to be here." Fishlegs said, glancing at everyone else. When no one volunteered he declared "We'll all go together, then." He stood up and all the others stand up, too.
Fishlegs, Ruff, and Snotlout all walk away with their dragons in search of wood in the catacombs.
It's just Astrid and me.
I glance at her to find her already watching me.
Then a wave of pain surges through me, and I close my eyes waiting for it to pass.
RUFFNUT'S POV
"Why do we have to look for wood? Why doesn't Astrid have to do anything?" Snotlout complained.
Ugh, this is just what I needed. To be stuck with Snotlout. Perfect.
"Astrid was making sure Hiccup is alright, Snotlout."
"And you can bet that no one would be doing this for you, Snotlout." I pointed out, walking deeper into the cave.
I was so sick of this trip. Tuff, the only person who really understood me, was off with the beauty queen, Astrid was with Hiccup, which left me stuck with the last resorts.
