What wonderful details! Aren't they great? Sorry.
I hope this isn't creepy or anything but I've seen other people do it so I thought that it wouldn't be completely uncalled for, right!
I just wanted to thank a couple people who have supported my book writing, as I did in my other book as well.
Thank you to Tuffnut_and_Chicken as well as Queenie381, I really appreciate all the nice things you've done thus far.
I do appreciate all who read my book but just wanted to give a shoutout to these two.
Thank you to all who read! I am super grateful!
HICCUP'S POV
I don't understand why I'm coughing and having trouble breathing, but it all started after I met Echo and landed on my back.
She had left with everyone except Astrid to gather supplies and then come back here. I was still fearful of what supplies she needed to gather.
I tried to get up, which led to trying to take a deep breath, sputtering and ending up in a coughing fit.
Astrid rushed over to me and sighed, gently pushing me back onto the ground.
"Hiccup, you know you shouldn't be getting up." She scolded, staring into my eyes.
"I don't trust her." I rasp, my breathing unsteady.
"Hiccup, what choice do we have?" She asked, looking out at the hail refusing to stop falling from the sky.
He reached up a shaky hand, his energy draining but he refused to fall asleep.
"I'm fine, Astrid," I whispered, touching her cheek weakly with his hand and staring into her icy eyes.
She closed her eyes at my touch and sighed.
"You're not fine, Hiccup. You can hardly move any part of your body." She reached up and grabbed my hand and held it in hers.
"I can't live without you, Hiccup." She whispered.
I sighed and use all the energy I had left to force myself up onto my hands and place a kiss on her cheek.
She looked surprised but after a second gently kissed me on the lips, her hands weaving into my hair as she helped me support myself. I wrapped my arms around her waist and deepened the kiss.
I moaned in pain when she leaned forward, my whole chest exploded in pain and I broke into a nasty cough.
"I'm sorry, Astrid." I wheezed between coughs. "I feel so useless..." I said, coughing again and refusing to meet her eye.
She felt so bad for me, you could see it in her eyes, which I was avoiding. She gently took my chin and lifted up so that he was forced to look into her eyes.
"You are not useless." She demanded. "You are the most important person on the entire team."
I coughed and said nothing. She sighed and stood up.
I looked after her, then squeezed my eyes shut as I continued to cough. I couldn't stop. I tried, but it just made me cough more. Astrid was at the front of the cave, staring at the hail.
I looked up at her, but she couldn't see me, and I doubt she could hear me.
I tasted blood.
I panicked. I couldn't stop coughing, and I was coughing up blood.
I managed to get out a strangled "Astrid!" Between coughs.
She looked over her shoulder at me, looking irritated, and then spun around when she saw the blood on the cave floor.
