Only You

Chapter 22: Where Did the Party Go?

"I can't believe you didn't tell me this earlier." Stella says and sits next to me in my bed. I forgot how it was being alone with her. We always have Scarlett, some random other friend, Zach or Caleb with us and it's nice being only the two of us, that way we can be ourselves and we don't have to pretend anything in front of anyone.

"I'm sorry, we just had a lot going on." I answer and take some grapes from the green bowl in front of me.

"So are you two good again?" She asks referring to Liam and I, "Because one thing is what you told me and other thing is the way you were today with him, you seem pretty damn fine." She says and her smile gets bigger, then she brings a grape to her mouth.

"I don't know", I say and giggle, "We're weird." I honestly answer. He did treat me nice today, I noticed he was being very careful with his choice of words and with every move he made, except for that time in the movie theater when he accidentally placed his hand over mine, I had to remove it as fast as I could and my heart was pumping so fast and hard, I could almost hear it.

Stella nods as if she understood and steps out of my bed, "So what are you wearing tonight?" she asks.

"Tonight?" I reply with a question and then I get where she's going to, "I'm not going to the party."

"Of course we are going! After skipping some classes, we can end the week with a great party. I promise you'll have fun." She tries to convince me but I don't totally agree.

"I don't drink or smoke or do that type of stuff, parties aren't my thing." I tell her. She already knows that I would rather be in my house watching a movie, using the computer or doing something I like rather than going to a party full of drunken people.

"We have never been to a party together, besides, I'll be with you the whole time and you can give me your drink if you like." She says and flips her light blonde hair back from her face, "See it as our friendship welcoming."

"Why don't you go with Scarlett?" I ask, hoping that she'll chose her and finally leave me here resting on my own.

"Scarlett, yeah she can come too. I forgot to message her after the movie, oops." She says and takes her phone out of her pocket to text Scarlett. "She'll meet us at Randy's." She informs me after a few minutes.

"I don't even know who Randy is." I tell her.

"He's one of Liam's friends, a tall brownish haired guy, with beautiful blue eyes and a charming smile, he's very cute, an eleven out of a ten, the man of my dreams-"

"I get it Stella, I get it." I say laughing, "You should marry him already." Her description sounded as if she was describing Liam, I guess all of his friends are good looking.

"I would like that. Everything can change in one night you know." That's true, a lot can change in matter of hours.

"I got to go, I'll pick you up at eight. Be ready!" She says while getting out of my room, closing the door when she's out.

This isn't the best idea but I really don't care, it's my senior year and I should do everything I didn't do the past years.

It's almost eight o' clock and I'm ready, my hair is in big bouncy curls, my makeup properly done, and my clothes well chosen, I think I enjoy more the process of getting ready than the actual event. Yeah, that's just me.

I open my room's door to get downstairs and see my dad with his fist in the air, as if he was about to knock at my door. He moves his hand from the air to my face and gently touches the bruise, it's still noticeable but it doesn't hurt that much, it does look painful though.
