Chapter 23

"Yeah, okay. I know mom. Don't eat too much popcorn. Got it." Marinette said as she listened to her parents instruct her on the do's and don'ts which made her sigh.

Than, the doorbell rang. Marinette giddily ran to the door and opened it. Her eyes widened at the person in front of her.

"A-Adrien?!" She exclaimed.

"Hey, lil'lady." He smirked in response.

Tom and Sabine glanced at him and back at Marinette. "Little lady!" Tom said.

"See, your dad agrees." Adrien whispered to her, making her groan.

Sabine looked at Marinette with a displeasing look. "I thought it was Alya's date?" Marinette shook her head vigorously.

"You should have asked us fir-" Tom began but was cut of by Marinette. She shook her head and her hands violently until she lost it and scream.

Adrien coughed back his laugh and her parents watched her with wide eyes.

"It's not what you're thinking. Haha.." Marinette said, but her parents weren't convinced. She gulped and turned to Adrien for help.

He rose a brow. "Oh, was I supposed to say something?"

"Please do." Tom said with a hard glare. Adrien quickly straighten his composure and stuttered. "Sir! I'm a friend of Alya's boyfriend and I was forced by him to tag along so I did, Sir!" He spoke fast and saluted at the end of his sentence.

Tom nodded approvingly.

"Okay, go before you miss your movie." He said as he gave Marinette some money.

"Let's go." The bluenette sighed and gestured the blonde to follow.

"So..." Adrien said.

"Wha- you know what? Shut up." She said. Adrien shrugged and followed.

"Girl, what took you guys so long?" Alya asked as the two made their way in.

"Ehh, just clearing some misunderstanding..." Marinette sweatdropped. Adrien looked at her with an amusing look.

"Really? What did they say?" Alya wiggled her eyebrows while Nino smirked.

"They thought I was... Her d-date...heh." Adrien stammered. Nino wiggled his eyebrows.

"Can you stop that! It looks like your eyebrows are twerking!" Adrien exclaimed. The two girls burst out laughing as Nino stuck his tongue out.

"Whatever, with a capital letter W!" Nino said, making a W with his fingers.

"You sound like a sassy girl." Alya laughed. Marinette grinned. "So.. You?"

"Haha, Dupain-Cheng!" Alya retorted sarcastically making all of them laugh.

"Oh, my. What movie is this?" Marinette said as they sat in their seats. Alya grinned.

"That movie I've been wanting to watch! Moana!!!" She squealed excitingly.

"Shhhhh!" Everyone in the inside in cinema hushed. Alya blushed and sat down in her seat next to Nino.

"Oh, the new Disney movie.. Nino, no references after this, okay?" Adrien looked at  his friend sitting in front of him and glared. Nino slumped back. "I make no promises." He teased, chuckling when he heard Adrien groan.

"How the hell am I stuck with you?" Marinette muttered in annoyance.

"Ouch, lil' lady. That hurt. But I guess you could say it was destiny."  The blonde winked at the bluenette causing her to cringe.

"The fu-"

"Shhhhhhh!" Adrien cut her off by hushing her, making her pout. The blond chuckled and shook his head.

"Your too cute.." He said.

Their eyes widened.

"What did you say?" Marinette smirked, looking at him teasingly. Adrien looked away to avoid eye contact. "I didn't say anything."

"Really, I heard you-"

"I didn't say anything! You're going deaf... Ahh..." He  felt a tiny blush crawl across his cheeks. Because that comeback was stupid.

"Getting defensive, are we? Admit it, you called me cute." Marinette said while poking his cheeks.

The blonde quickly slapped her hand away and looked at her with a hard look. "Shut up and watch the movie." He spoke and turned to the screen.

Marinette shrugged and face the screen as well.

"Oh, and by the way." She whispered, catching the blond's attention.

"Stop blushing."
