"Blood never betrays blood." Prince Alistar said.
"If you believe that, you're an idiot." Claire responded, she had after all betrayed the man who swore himself to her in blood. Her mate- Alpha Maximus.
Chapter 15
You never should've picked a fight you can't win
Sierra's POV
Walking to Alpha Peter's office I wondered how I should bring up the topic. I couldn't exactly barge in there and accuse him of keeping secrets from the pack. Whatever he was doing, he was doing for the benefit of the pack.
As I spotted the large mahogany door of his office, I questioned if I wanted to do this at all. As if the goddess answered my prayers, the door opened and Luna Evie walked out.
She had a few papers in her hand and was scanning them carefully.
The whole thing gave me an idea. Maybe I didn't have to talk to Alpha Peter at all. But I still knew exactly how to get my answers.
"Luna Evie." I called out.
She looked up at me in question before walking towards me. I don't ever remember Luna Evie being caught off guard. She was perfect. Her signature black dress always stood out against her pale skin. Her shortness made her always have a pair of heels on, and we had bonded over our obsession with shoes on countless occasions. She always looked regal and cold but was affectionate and supportive. She was both alpha and Luna.
"Sierra. Are you okay?" she asked, once she reached me. The papers in her arm were held tightly against her chest.
"Can I talk to you? In private?" I asked her.
"Yes. Sure.Let's go into my office. I've only got a few moments." She said gesturing to the door the hall.
The whole thing gave me an idea. Luna Evie was the acting Alpha of Blackpaw Pack, she must definitely know the reason for the treaty to take place. And she didn't know about the idea that one of the options for the treaty to take place was me being bound to Alpha Maximus. So, That way I'd get the facts straight up, I'd know the real reason, without it being sugar coated.
Luna Evie's office was a lot like Alpha Peter's but it had more photos and flowers. It was more feminine. And also a tad bit tinier, giving it a cozy feel. The whole house was finished with dark Mahogany wood.
"Is everything okay?" she asked me, gesturing to the sofa where she was already seated.
"Luna Evie, I know you have very little time so I'm going to ask you some questions and I really do hope you can give me the answers." I explained an took a deep breath and closed my eyes, hoping to calm my nerves. It didn't really do much.
"You trust me right? Trust that I'd never do anything against this pack?" I asked her, looking at her hopefully.
"Of Course I trust you dear. Ask me what you want to." She said gently patting my hand in a motherly way.
"The treaty. The one between Alpha Peter and Alpha Maximus. It's not Vampires is it? I know it's not. What's the real reason for the alliance?" I asked her my voice a little above a whisper.
I closed my eyes and waited for her to yell at me or tell me that someone was going to die, or something, anything really.
But after several moments of silence, I wondered if the whole thing happened or if I was just imagining it.
I peeked through one eye, and when I realized that she had a dazed expression on her face I opened the other one quickly.
"Luna Evie? Are you okay?" I asked her, shaking her a little.
