Chapter 17

Well, the plan isn't perfect.

Sierra's POV

I felt as though the whole world had come to a stop. These people were my family. I've seen them always stand up for me.

Luna Evie and Alpha Peter were sort of like my second parents. I loved and respected them for always running the pack on morals and to be fair. Somehow this didn't seem fair. It didn't seem like the right thing to do. Kill people just because they didn't share the same values and opinions as you seemed a bit harsh.

"Luna Evie. What about the innocent? The children? What about them? If we were to kill kids just to prove someone wrong. What's the difference between us and rogues?" I asked.

"Children?" Luna Evie asked,a little puzzled.

"Sierra dear. Everyone above the age 16 will have to do the test. Everyone younger than that will be sorted depending on where their family is. " She said

"And what if their family doesn't survive? What then? And what about the years to come? These young wolves will turn against us. All over again." I said.

They had not thought this through.

"Well the plan isn't perfect. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there. We don't want the young wolves to go through the test as well. They most definitely won't survive it." She said, sighing.

"This test. How is it decided?" I asked.
"It's an ancient test used by werewolves. Our ancestors used it to figure out if a wolf was eligible to be in their packs. Over time it was put out of use. No one wanted to change packs anymore. And when they mated to another pack they were accepted into that. Mates no longer had to prove themselves because if they failed the significant other used to go crazy. It's how the first rogues came about." She explained.

I nodded my head, just as a small cheer was heard form outside.
Luna Evie and I snapped out of our own little world and looked out the fairly small bag window.
The sun had set and the skies had become dark, the small LED lights lighting up the clearing. The place looked like something out of a fairy tale.
There was a huge crowd gathered around, and in the center of it was Jake and Chase, chugging on alcohol as the crowd, who were all our age, cheered.
While the older wolves looked on in amusement and the younger pups looked confused.
"Well, look at the time. Let's head back. All you needed to know, I've told you. That's the reason we need Thai alliance. It would be a death sentence to not have an ally like the Shadow Bloods at a time like this. I hope you won't tell anyone what I told you?" She asked.
"Why did you? Tell me I mean?" I asked, curious. I mean, I knew that Jake didn't know either. If he did he would have told me. So if Jake didn't know and he was going to be Alpha soon, why did she tell me?

"Because I trust you. And also because of Jake." Luna Evie said, giving me a small smile.
What did she mean by that? Was I wrong? Did Jake know and just not mention it to me?
"Does Jake know?" I asked.
"No he doesn't. I didn't want to pressurize him on his birthday. I'm  going to tell him tomorrow." She said, walking towards the door.
"Then what did you mean by you told me because of Jake?" I asked her, a little confused.

"Well I just meant that once I tell him tomorrow, you'll be one of the first people he's going to tell.... He does share everything with you doesn't he?" she said, exiting the room and leaving me standing there, incredibly confused.
