''Hey, Wash?''

''Yeah?''

''Do you regret being a freelancer?''

''What do you mean?''

''Like do you think of everything you wanted to do when you were growing up.''

''Hm. Not , really, I regret certain things that I've done as a freelancer but I don't regret being one. What about you?''

''Honestly? Sometimes. Like , I wanted to work with computers and travel the world. That's why I joined the military. I was excited when I was recruited for the project to experience space and the newest technology.'' Alaska smiled when she remembered when she first got the news as a teenager. Washington couldn't help but smile with her. Seeing her happy, made him happy.

''But, once I starting going on missions, I realized something was wrong. I found myself constantly conflicted. Were we the good guys or the bad guys?'' Her smile faded and was replaced with confusion. She fumbled around with her helmet in her hands. ''Then I started losing people that I cared deeply for. York, North, and especially, Maine.''

''I felt like I made the biggest mistake of my life.''

''I know. It was us all along for the ride. We were going down with the director.''

''I was so fucking mad. I lost everything.'' Alaska said, squeezing her hand into a fist.

She turned her head and looked at Washington who had his head down.

''Well, there is one good thing that I can say came out of this.'' Washington started, turning to meet her gaze. He took off his helmet and sat it in his lap.

''Oh yeah?'' Alaska asked, confused. Washington reached over and grabbed her hand.

''I got to meet you.''

''Wash...''

''No. I've caused a lot of problems with everyone and made a lot of mistakes. I regret a lot of things but you are the one choice that I stand by.'' Washington turned his body to completely face her. He grabbed both of her hands and looked at her silver orbs.

''Do you mean that?''

''Of course. Although, I felt like I had to compete with North and Maine.''

''Well, yeah, North was my first everything after all.'' She gave him a sly smile. Washington's smile dropped and his expression changed to surprise and hurt.

''I'm kidding, Wash.'' She laughed.

''Oh. Okay.'' He sighed in relief. ''I can't tell with you.''

''Did you seriously think North and I were a thing?''

''Well, of course.I mean you guys were always together .''

''Wash, he was the one I felt the most comfortable with opening up to.He was my best friend. Nothing more, nothing less.''

''Yeah but..''

''But nothing. If anythin', Maine should have been your first guess. He literally slept in the bed with me and protected me.''

''That was true? I just thought that was something North and York were saying to mess with me.''

''Nah. That's true.'' Alaska laughed. ''But I got Luna before Maine got Sigma and North did the same for me.''

''I do want to know something.''

''Yeah?''

''When I lost Epsilon, they told me you stayed with me everyday. Is that true?''

''Yeah. I was so worried about you , Wash. Only reason I wasn't there when you woke up is 'cuz the Director wanted to run tests on me.''

Washington was shocked to hear that. He was told that he was out for ten days. Which meant that Alaska stayed by his side for ten days straight.

''I love you , Wash.'' She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a hug. Washington wrapped his arms around her waist, placed his head in the crook of her neck, and closed his eyes.

''I love you too, Alaska.''
