Concussion(Maine)

Alaska soon regained consciousness. she sat up and rubbed her throbbing head. it felt like someone was beating her head in with a baseball bat.

''ow. my head is spinning.'' She breathed out while slowly opening her eyes to take in here surroundings. She noticed that she was in some kind of room. the room seemed oddly familiar, almost like she had been there before.

''woah!.'' she jumped as a freelancer's face came into her view. ''you scared me.''

''sorry.'' the freelancer grunted

''and who are you?'' Alaska questioned

''dont remember?''

''nah not really?''

''Maine.'' The large freelancer placed is arm on his chest plate.

''like the state?'' Alaska tilted her head slightly in confusion.

''Yes.'' Maine nodded.

''ohhhhh. okay then. hello Maine.''

''hey, Maine. i see she's awake.'' north said as he, York, and Washington walked into the infirmary.

''oh, hello .'' Alaska said cheerfully to the other males.

''you know Maine, i dont hink its a good idea for you to be here.'' York patted him lightly on the back. ''you understand, right, buddy?''

Maine looked to York then back to Alaska. he nodded , lightly touched her hand, then left. the other males sat down beside her.

''he was nice.'' Alaska laughed ''not much for talkin' though.''

''yeah.'' north chuckled. ''but how are you?''

''im fine besides the headache, of course. now who are yall?''

''what?''

''im sorry i dont know who yall are. yall seem like a nice bunch.''

''Alaska. It's me, North. This is York and Washington.''

''oh right, right. Uh, who is Alaska?''

''Yo-uh, do you know your name?''

''of course i do , its um, uh.'' Alaska scratched her head in confusion. ''no not really. i dont know.''

''i think he gave her a concussion.'' York said

''wow, she's really pretty.''Washington said

''not now , wash.'' north said

''sorry. just trying to lighten the mood.'' Washington said defensively, waving his hands in front of him.

''how is our patient?'' the Director said, walking into the infirmary with the Councilor close behind him.

''Sir, i believe she has a concussion.''[ north replied, concern evident in his voice.

''oh? and what makes you say that, Agent?''

''she doesn't remember anything.''

''Please be more specific, Agent North Dakota.'' The councilor said

''hey.'' north tapped Alaska's hand. Alaska smiled and turned her head to face him.

''Yes?''

''What is your name?''

''Alaska.''

''that doesn't... ''

''wait for it , sir.''

''..at least that's what I think it is.''

''There it is.''

''Hmm. We'll have to run some tests. You all are dismissed.''

''yes sir.'' they all said in unison taking one last look at Alaska before leaving.

''Miss Jade, how are you feeling?'' The counselor walked towards her. his digital pad in his hand and a warm smile on his face. He took the seat that Maine was was occupying earlier.

''Who me?''

''Yes. Now, how are you feeling?''

''Okay. I guess. I feel like I've been hit with a truck.'' She gently touched the bandaged part of her head.

''Well, you did take a nasty beating.''

''I did?'' She was so confused. All this new information was coming all to her at once. As her senses slowly came back to her , she started to feel weird. Like something was off about her. Something didn't feel quite right.

''My leg feels weird.'' She stated to no one in particular.

''That's because it was cut off, Agent.'' The Director replied bluntly.

''What?!'' She screeched as she lifted up the blanket off of her body. What the Direction said was true. Her right leg had been replaced with a cybernetic peg shaped one.

''What is this!? Where is my leg!?'' She started to panic as she touched the foreign piece of metal that was now attached to her body.

''You honestly don't remember. I guess it's for the best, it wasn't pleasant.'' The Councilor jotted down a few notes before looking at the Director. Director Church nodded his head at his subordinate before looking at the panicked Freelancer.

''You will need to take therapy to get you back on your feet. The Councilor will guide you through it.''
