“So what is going to happen to Arthur Ravensdale” I ask, trying to keep my mind occupied on anything other than the fact that Arianna is being checked by the healer in the room while we were relegated to Trevor’s rarely used sound-proof office.

Trevor had contacted a few of his pack members to bring around a couple of cars to transport everyone back while I was down in the dungeon getting Arianna.

It took the convoy of seven cars roughly twenty minutes to get to us. Their healer came with them and did a quick check on Arianna to make sure she didn’t have any broken bones or wounds that could be aggravated in the drive back.

Once she nodded her green light, we bundled Arianna into the blankets they brought and settled her on the seat with me hugging her tightly. I hope I didn’t break a rib in the process…

Anyway, the moment we got back, the healer and her helpers whisked Arianna away into healing room with the rest of us trailing behind. Trevor barked orders to his men to secure Arthur Ravensdale in the holding cell without a second glance, completely focused on his sister’s wellbeing, which leads us back to this point.

“Uncle Art? I don’t know. Maybe I’ll hand him over to the Council?” Trevor shrugs, looking towards Sir David for direction.

“The Council will need to convene to try his case. We can send him for isolation in Alaska in the meantime.” Sir David volunteers.

“He needs psychiatric help! Not thrust into a place where he will only drown further into his own twisted mind!” I implore.

“That is a fair point, I suppose. We’ll need to send him to a shifter hospital. I can make arrangements if that’s what you want to do?” Sir David poses the question to Trevor.

There’s a look of uncertainty in Trevor’s eyes, like one of agony and indecisiveness. I suppose I can sympathize with his dilemma – he holds the future of his uncle’s life in his hands. I can’t imagine how that weighs down on him.

“Yeah… I suppose so.” Trevor sighs, massaging his temple with one hand.

“Very well, I will make the arrangement. If you’ll excuse me, I also need to alert the Council members that Miss Ravensdale is our prophesized red wolf. Not to mention we’ll need some of the warrior wolves flown over here immediately. They need to escort her back to the royal palace in Alaska anyway.” Sir David says as he turns to walk away.

“Whoa whoa whoa—“ I react the same time as Trevor.

“Hang on a second here!” Trevor shouts.

“Where do you think you’re taking Arianna??” I growl.

“We need to protect her and the safest place for her is at the royal palace where the warrior wolves can watch out for her. We’ve waited 300 years, we can’t leave things to chance and I won’t risk Miss Ravensdale’s safety. Someone might come for her again and next time, they might not be so kind to keep her alive.”

“No way!!! I haven’t seen her for six years! Six bloody years I’ve lived in worry and agony, not knowing if she’s still alive or not. And now, you want to whisk her away the very second she’s found?! I don’t think so. She’s not leaving my sight!” Trevor bellows.

I whip my head to the right and glare at Trevor. “You can’t keep her here! She’s my mate and she belongs with me in New York. Besides, she hates you! Why do you think we never contacted you to tell you where she was!! You failed to protect her. I am not leaving her with you again!”
