Taking my hair in a knot, I tied them at the top of my head and closed my book with a thump.
"Nisha." I jumped hearing Kabir's voice. Glaring at him, I collected my books from the top of kitchen counter table and stuck my tongue at him.
"Not now, bro." I grinned. "I remember I've to bring Alina's lehnga from the shop tonight. Don't worry. Your wedding is a month later." Something twitched within his eyes as he gripped his cup tighter. I was so stupid. I couldn't understand what that meant at that time. "Did mom call you?" I looked through my phone. "It's strange. They always call whenever they reach. I'm worried."
I bit my lower lip. Kabir sighed softly, and came forward, settling on one of the swirling chairs.
"Their flight got late. And now you don't worry, you've your last exam. Don't you dare spoil it. I want to brag about my doctorate sister."
Laughing, I shoved his chest. It had been three months since he came back from Bangalore for forever. I had thought he would be better and maturer but how wrong I was. My brother would never improve.
Switching off the microwave, I hugged my books to the chest, kissed his cheek and was about to go when he called me from behind.
"Sis." I turned, ready to yell at him for halting me because it wasn't a good sign. "I'm always here for you, no matter what. Oberoi twins against the world."
I looked at him suspiciously. "Is Alina sleeping?"
"No," He mused.
"Then go and drop your weird talking on her. Wait!" I walked back to the kitchen counter. "I'll call her and tell her that her fiance is bothering me with emotional talkings."
Kabir snatched the phone from my hands and pinned with a look. "I'm serious. I know we're of same age, but I'm still your elder--"
"By three minutes."
He glared at me, hate to be interrupted in between. "Fine. By three minutes. But still, I'm always here for you. Family comes first for me than any other thing in the world. And you, my sister, will always be first for me. I love you."
I blinked back my tears and nodded silently. What had happened to him today? Kabir hated the emotional stuff, but why today?
He didn't wait for a second and hugged me tightly, too much tight like I would disappear in a moment and would never come back
"Kabir, is everything okay?" I asked, unsure about what was happening to him. Yesterday, he was happy, joking around the dinner with me. What happened now? Was he okay?
"Yes. Just hug me, moti." Chuckling, I hugged him back.
"I love you too, bro. Now let me go. I have an exam and you've to get ready for work, otherwise dad will roast you alive for neglecting the business." He stepped back, allowing his arms to fall at his side."Bye. Please, call mom and dad and tell them I was worried about them and I love them too."
Grinning, I took my books, and fly out of the house.
Kabir didn't even tell me about their death, the crashed plan, so worried about my exam and state of mind. I couldn't even imagine through what he had to go alone.

Romance"I'm not your brother." A devil smile played on his lips. Elevating the right brow, I asked, "What do you mean?" My hand clenched the beer bottle as his gaze intruded into mine. I hated him. I told the ugliest things of my life to him. I confessed...
