*Lin's POV*

Pippa lead the way to where she had planned our date. As we were walking, I was looking around, looking for anything that may have been a sign. But nope, no luck. But that was okay with me. Pippa's endless supply of happiness had made the day worth while already.

We finally reached the spot. "Oh, this is only part one! This gonna span throughout the whole day!" She said smiling and me and grabbing my hand.

She lead the way to a little spot in Central Park where there was a blanket and a basket of food set up. "Picnic in the park!" Pippa said and sat down.

I smiled and joined her on the blanket. "A beautiful day, with a beautiful girl" I smiled and kissed her.

We finished our picnic around 12:00. "Okay, let's start getting ready for part two!"

Before I knew it, we were up on our feet again. We left the scenery of the tree filled park, and entered the scenery of building after building, or as most people know it, Manhattan.

Part two was visiting a modern art museum. It was one of my favorite places, and Pippa remembered. It made me smile and my heart happy.

(Skipping around because I'm tired, and it would be insanely long if I kept going.)

It was already 8:00 by the time we got to part 7. We decided it was best if we start heading back.

"This was amazing... thank you, thank you, thank you" I said before I rapidly kissed her which caused her to giggle that cute little giggle she has.

As we were making our way back to my parents house, it was dark, and there was hardly anyone out, which seemed very odd to me.

I mean, come on, this is New York City! The city that never sleeps. The city that is ALWAYS crazy busy. Considering that we were in Manhattan, but the heart of Manhattan too. There should be more people around, I kept thinking that to myself.

I held Pippa close as we walked. She smiled and kissed my cheek, I blushed and smiled.

"I think Seb will be happy to see us!" She said as she unlocked her phone and went on Twitter. I nodded and smiled. "Yeah, it's been a while since I've left him alone for most of the day." I said looking at the streets.

As we walked into Times Square the normal crowds of people started to reappear and I relaxed. The typical New York streets were back; full of people in a rush, next to people looking pretty. (Yes I referenced Hamilton)

"Do you mind if we stop at Starbucks? I'm thirsty and could use a burst of energy" Pippa asked me and I nodded. "I was just about to ask you the same thing" I laughed as we entered Starbucks.

We got our drinks and headed back out. The city is beautiful at night; everything is covered in lights.

As we continued on our journey home, Pippa's phone started going off, rapidly. Messages after messages were flowing in. "Someone's popular tonight" I laughed lightly and looked at her. "Yeah, I guess so" she said as she pulled out her phone.

I looked away and continued to look at the sights of the city.

I noticed that Pippa stopped walking next to me, so I stopped and turned to her. "Is everything okay?" I ask gently.

She looks up from her phone for a second. "Oh, um, yeah! It.. it was just my parents. They started a group message by accident."

*Pippa's POV*

Did I just lie to him? I think I just lied to him. Oh my gosh, I totally, 100% just lied to Lin! Why did I do that? Oh my gosh.

I look at him quickly then back down to my phone and at the messages. They were from Steven, an ex boyfriend who can't seem to realize I'm done with him, or that we're over.

S: you need to answer me.
: answer now.
: why aren't you answering.
: god damn it, Phillipa!
: I see you.
: why are with that asshole.
: if you don't answer me, when I see you're on your phone I swear.

P: stop. Please. Stop. Stop. Please!

Lin looks at me and I jump slightly. "Pip, is everything alright?" He asks and places a hand on my back.

"Lin.. it's.. it's not my parents.." i start and I look at him. "It's..." is all I manage to get out before I feel a gush of wind move past me and a pair of arms grab me that aren't Lin's.

One hand is placed over my mouth, and the other, tightly holding my arms behind my back.

It's Steven.

"I warned you! And now this is what you get!" He said as he started hitting me and kicking me. I vaguely see Lin as he approaches.

I feel my eyes get heavy and my body gets light. The next thing I know, I'm on the ground, gasping for a breath of air.

My eyes close and I don't hear anything.

"Pippa? Come on Pippa, wake up!" I hear Lin say as he shakes me gently.

I come to and see that he's holding me in his arms. "What.. what happened?"

He jumps in shock that I responded.

"Ssshh.. don't, don't worry, let's just get home.." he says as he carries me away.
