Sometime after chapter 11, Pre-marriage. Anna
I sigh, and stare through the rain drop covered window, and into the vast courtyard of the castle. Why has he been so strict about where I go? I can take care of myself! Ever since Chrom had gotten wind of an assassination plot on me, he's been highly overprotective of me. He hasn't permitted me to go outside, and he insists that I have a guard with me when he can't be one to me himself.
This has been going on for a month.
I have been spending most of my time in the library, and that's where I am now. I sigh again. I jump as I hear a low rumble of thunder, Gods... to think, that noise was all I heard on the battlefield...
A few, uneventful minutes pass, until I feel a warm pair of arms wrap around me. Chrom kisses my head "Hello, love. How are you holding up?" He asks.
I smile slightly "Eh, I've seen better days. How was your meeting?" I ask.
Chrom sits down next to me, and places his arm around my shoulder "Ugh, long and boring! I have to go to another one shortly! I want to know how your day was?" He asks.
I roll my eyes "Well, no different from your meeting, long and boring!" I say firmly.
Chrom raises an eyebrow "Oh? I thought you liked confining yourself in the library?" He says.
I groan, This man is hopeless... "I want to go outside!" I say.
Chrom's mood immediately changes "No. Absolutely not. You are to remain in the castle where you are safe! And besides, it's raining!" He says.
I wiggle free from his arm "So keeping me inside like a caged bird is how you're going to protect me?! And I don't care that it's raining! We've made many memories of messing around in the rain!" I say.
He frowns "Well, you're just going to have to deal with not making any memories in this storm. What I'm doing is necessary for your life!" He looks around "Hey, where is your guard?" He asks.
"I dismissed him." I answer.
Chrom groans "Anna! What would have happened if you were attacked?!" He asks.
I roll my eyes "Uh, I would defend myself." I say nonchalantly.
Chrom grits his teeth "What if that wasn't enough? What if these assassins were really strong?" He asks.
There is no way he going to let me win this argument. "Chrom! I'm perfectly capable of defending myself! I managed to survive the war, didn't I? It's going to take more then a few assassins to kill me!" I say.
Chrom tenses up "Just because you fought in and survived a war, doesn't mean you're invincible! Gods, I'm this close to ordering you to stay with me all the time!" He threatens.
I roll my eyes "Oh, it's not like you already did that in the past! And how did that end?! Oh!" I shouldn't have said that...
Chrom grits his teeth "I will do whatever it takes to keep you safe. I don't want to watch someone else I love die!" He gets up, "I won't let any harm come to you. No matter the cost. I'm going to send Frederick to watch over you. And this time, you can't dismiss your guard." He orders, walking off.
