Recap of 37:

When her lips meet mine I forget everything. How fucked up the past has been. The obstacle of that past being dug back up that is soon to be disintegrated just hours from now.

All I know in this point in time is I love her. God do I fucking love her.

But all love comes with a heavy price.

And I was about to find out mine.

Whitney POV:

Song: Sweater Weather: The Neighbourhood (dying bc this song is so good)

I secure the car door before tossing my purse onto the messy floor of her silver honda civic.

"Hey girl."

"Hey," I force a smile as she pulls away from the curb.

"How's everything going?"

My eyes drift back to the house through the tinted glass managing a simple shrug, "It's... going." I reluctantly speak while clasping my hands in my lap.

"You and Harry?"

"He's leaving," I let out a heavy sigh and it feels like a weights been lifted off my chest after being constricted by bricks.

"Really?"

I nod holding back the tears that threaten to brim my eyes.

"When?" She asks, concern filling her tone.

"Two days." I bite my bottom lip trying to be strong like Harry said but nothing further then the present brings hope. Only pain I've had to endure in the past making me relive it all over again.

The brakes are applied at a bit to much pressure as we swing a sharp right.

"Where are you going?"

I look up to see my favorite small coffee shop on the corner, the car slowing and parking adjacent to the curb.

"There's no point in driving all the way back to my place to talk. And besides hot chocolate fixes everything." Maddz smiles retrieving her purse from the back seat.

"Now are you coming or not?"

I nod slinging my purse over my right shoulder before climbing out into the frigid air that is much to cold for a late spring day.

I really should have wore than leggings and a knitted sweater, but that mean I would have to tell Harry he was right and hear him reinforce that I should have taken his beige coat before I headed out.

I begin to think about Harry's meeting with the boys at some promo agency when I hear Maddz shriek, rounding the corner to see Liam.

"Oh my gosh I haven't seen you in ages!" her arms wrap around his neck as he realizes who it is and hugs her back.

"Whitney," he nods with a warming smile to which I curly return.

"What are you doing here?" Maddz asks.

"Meeting a...friend for some coffee before heading to town." He tries to cover up a smile but its obvious whoever the girl is he is head over heels for.

"How you feel about the meeting?" I ask to make conversation and lighten the flush to his cheeks.

His head jerks up from the concrete sidewalk, "what meeting?"

"The one with the promo agency today." My voice lingers as confusion flashes his features.

Liam shakes his head still remaining silent before speaking at last.

"We did that friday. Didn't he tell you?"

"I-"

"Maybe he had the date mixed up or something." Liam politely suggests.

"No. He just told me this morning. Today at 2. Maybe there's a second one..."

Liam responds before I can finish my sentence, "No way. That meeting sucked, a bunch of assholes if you ask me. No way we would ever consider a deal with them."

I press my lips together unsure of how to respond.

"Thanks Liam. We'll have to catch up soon." Maddz says picking up the pieces as he enters the small shop.

Before I can stop myself I'm pulling out my phone and dialing Harry.

After four rings it goes to voicemail.

"Whit c'mon it's getting cold out," Maddz says nudging towards the door.

I try calling two more times with no luck. Where the hell is he?

I twist around and start heading back to the car when I hear Maddz shout over the cars passing by, "where the hell are you going?"

I keep walking and quickly hear her heels right behind me.

"Whit!"

I stop right infront of her car, throwing up my hands in defeat.

"He lied Maddz and I need to know why."

"But he could have just had the dates mixed up like Liam said-"

"Just take me back. Please."

"Whit your being dramatic." Maddz rolls her eyes, placing her hand on her right hip.

"I need to see him. He's been acting so...so...secretive lately and I can't do anything with this on the back of my mind."

With a heavy sigh Maddz slips over to the drivers side door.

"Fine. Get in."

Ten minutes later when we are a few streets away from his flat I finally give in to Maddz and try texting Harry.

'Hey. What you up to?'

Just as we round the corner I get a text back.

"Just leaving for the meeting going to pick Liam up now."

As my eyes glance up from the screen as we start to slow my breath hitches to my stomach.

"Maddz wait," I signal for her to stop as I spot Harry shuffling down the front steps to the porch.

She applies pressure to the breaks and I point behind a red honda parked on the opposite side of the curb.

"What is it?" Her eyes glance over to mine as she pulls the car into park.

I hand her my phone as my eyes remained glued to Harry.

His soft brunette curls are pushed back from his forehead with a grey beanie, a black hoodie pulled down to his waist with a pair of dark blue skinny jeans with a black pair of boots.

"He lied."

I nod to Maddz who glances between the phone and Harry who is unlocking the doors to his rover.

"Where do you think he's going?" She asks.

My heart feels empty in my chest with anxiety as to why he would lie to me.

Out of all the things we share trust is supposed to be the first one.

"I don't know," I sit there for a moment pondering over the options and as much as I don't want to know I have a bad feeling that it's only a part of something bigger. "I don't know Maddz but we're going to find out."

"Find out? L-like how?"

"Follow him."
