Recap of 38:

"He lied."

Out of all the things we share trust is supposed to be the first one.

"I don't know," I sit there for a moment pondering over the options and as much as I don't want to know I have a bad feeling that it's only a part of something bigger. "I don't know Maddz but we're going to find out."

"Find out? L-like how?"

"Follow him."

Whitney POV:

Song- Blood: The Middle East

As the car follows closely behind his on the freeway I find my phone clasped firmly in my hands. I twirl the device between my fingers anxiously before leaving it rest in my lap to wipe my sweaty palms against my knees.

There's this pit in the bottom of my stomach I can't quite grasp and I don't like it.

I don't like it at all.

My mind continues to race quicker than I can manage to keep up with. I want nothing more than to turn around and run. Run away from wherever he's going. But I know in my subconscious...

I know I never want to find out where he's headed. But I also know I need to know and take the risk before running away.

My head jerks up as I no longer feel the clicking of the newly cheaply paved highway. Our vehicle is now just two behind Harry's which takes another right into a motel parking lot, pulling in an empty space at the front.

We swing in a spot just across from his, my eyes studying the side mirror which provides a view of his driver door which remains closed.

"Why is he at some old run down dump motel?"

I shrug knowing something about this just doesn't seem right.

"Call him."

I flinch, my eyes darting up to Maddz.

"What?

"Call him."

"I heard you the first time but why- there's no point."

"Just," she takes my phone and before I can stop her Harry's name is written across the screen and I press the phone back to my ear.

Two rings echo back before I get a busy signal, sinking my stomach deeper.

"What?" Maddz interrogates as I end the call.

I throw my hands up in defeat, "it's busy."

"Oh."

"What do you think he's doing here, of all places?" I thow my hands up with an exhasperated sigh.

"Your guess is as good as mine."

Harry POV:

"I'm here." I let out a heavy sigh.I can't believe I'm actually here. The worst part was lying to Whit, first this morning, then when she called. I feel like the lies keep piling up. I just need this to be the last one-

"Okay come on up then it's room number-"

"No way I'm going in that dump motel. Come out here." I instruct.

I hear them bicker for a moment in the background before they finally agree.

"Fine." He grumbles into the line.

I hang up the phone and let my gaze linger out the window. The lot seems to be fairly vacant with the exception of about fifteen cars.

A minute later I see them to the left walking down the old windy iron staircase.

This place must really be old as shit, no wonder they want the money for a better place.

Not that I give a damn.

I swipe up the bag of money from the passenger seat and step out of the rover.

"Well well," a wicked smirk spreads across Julie's face as she approaches me, Andy at her side slightly behind.

I roll my eyes shoving the bag to her, "we still have a deal right?"

Her head tips down opening the bag to look inside, "it's all there?"

"Yes now have we got a deal or not?" I glance between the two of them trying to keep down the bile rising in my throat.

Andy's eyes drift behind me, Julie's following shortly thereafter.

"Hello?" I yell a little louder trying to get their fucking attention.

The voice that answers belongs to neither of them and I don't have to turn around to know who it is.

Whitney POV:

I twist around in my seat to watch Harry through the rear glass of the car as he steps out of his Rover.

My eyes narrow as I spot something in his left hand, a bag of some sort?

"What do you think he's doing?"

Maddz chuckles, "Why are you whispering?"

I press my lips together and turn back to face her, "I-I don't know it just feels weird spying on him."

"It's not spying."

"Then what do you call it?"

Maddz shrugs causing me to turn back around to look out the glass. My mouth nearly drops to the floor and I know I must be seeing things.

"Whit what's-holy shit is that-?"

Before she can finish her sentence my hand is on the door handle.

The shaggy dirty blonde hair I can spot like a sore thumb and I really think I'm going to be sick.

It's like a knife to my chest and all I know is I don't understand why he's here with him.

And then I see her.

The knife stabs through me and I'm left in hollow bits.

My only instinct telling me to get answers.

"Wait-" Her hand grips my arm holding me back, "Where are you going?"

"To find what the hell's going on!" I yell lowly, my door cracked halfway open.

Before she can respond the door is shut back closed and I'm already making my way across the lot.

My knees feel weak as my fears are confirmed with each step I get closer, when my boots padding against draw their attention to me.
