Surprises + Squirrel Socks

I sat on the musty old brown couch at Shane's house, Waiting for him to get back with the popcorn. It was a rather dreary day but I went over to Shane's to watch some movies, "Here you go" Shane came back with two bowls of popcorn and sat down on the couch. "I better warn you. My brother's coming over." I looked at him with a shocked expression "You have a brother?" Shane ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. "Ya, He was uh living with my dad" My mind snapped back to when Shane told me his parents divorced when he was just 5 years old, His dad moved to Montana with his little brother who was only three.

"I'm sorry Shane, I forgot" He shook his head as I heard someone come in the driveway. "Oh no. Please don't tell me-" Shane stood as Blondy walked in, Except he wasn't blond. "Strawberry?!"

"Blondy. Your not blond?" I stood and crossed my arms "Why is Strawberry here?" Shane looked horribly confused "Harley is Strawberry? You know Kendal?" He asked us, I shook my head and sighed "Your idiot brother spilled a strawberry smoothie on me, Then he came to my house and decided to shove various foods in my face" Kendal laughed "The pudding ruined my white shirt" Shane sat down and still looked confused "Why aren't you blond anymore?" I looked at his once very blond hair that was now a dark brunette with a hint of blond "I wanted a fresh start and no one to see me as his brother so I made Shane-y here buy me hair dye." Shane laughed and stood up again "The Dollar Store isn't really known for quality stuff"

It was about an hour or so later when before I knew it, Was whisked away and was now driving to who knows where with Shane and Kendal. Kendal was in the drivers seat with me in shotgun and Shane in the back. My hand slowly moved to the radio while Kendal was rocking out to some stupid rap music. I quickly changed it to a different channel when soon enough Kendal changed it back. I glared at him and pressed the button again. "Here we go" I heard Shane sigh through the muffled mixture of rap and pop.

"Oh well, Rap is crap" I hissed "There, I rhymed. Happy?" Kendal shook his head as he changed it back. We've been driving for almost an hour, And during it the music was changed at least over 100 times "Please" I used my best puppy dog eyes, Which was easy since well I technically was a dog. Kendal sighed as he looked over at me, "Well I guess-No" His eyes hardened as he changed the channel back. "Ugh. Fine" I heard him say as he changed it back, 'Two Is Better Than One' came on and I grinned since it was #1 on my most played for iTunes.

I started to hum the lyrics before singing it " So maybe it's true that I can't live without you, And maybe two is better than one" I continued to hum before hearing some else jumped in "But there's so much time to figure out the rest of my life, And you've already got me coming undone. And i'm thinking two is better than one" I turned from looking out the window to see Kendal singing along to my favorite song.He smiled shyly at me and I continued to sing with the song.

"Were here Shane' I shook him awake as he fell asleep during the two hour car drive, His eyes lazily opened "Where are we?" I loked around to see we were at Venice Beach "Kendal, Venice is a 40 minute drive, Why did it take almost 2 hours?' The wind was blowing in my hair as my phone rang "Hello?" I looked to see Kendal getting a water gun out of the trunk "Harley? Good where are you?" Kendal smirked and started to pump the gun as Shane's eyes grew wide and hid in the car with the doors locked.

"Becca. Ya I have to go" I said as I threw my phone in the trunk and grabbed a gun "This is for my white shirt" He smiled and shot me, My shirt was now soaked "This is for my whole outfit you ruined when that smoothie spilled on me" I squirted him, Only to find the gun only had a bit of water in it. "HA!" I heard Kendal say as he dropped the gun and ran over to me, He lifted me up and threw me up over his shoulder and ran to the water.

"BECCA! HAYLEY!" I screamed as I closed the door and stood on the door mat- Soaking wet. "Strawberry, No need to shout" Kendal smirked as he walked in the door.

"What is he doing here?" Becca's eyes locked on him as Hayley came in "Shane's brother?" Kendal nodded solemnly, The water in his hair dripping on the carpet. "We went to the each and Kendal decided it would be fun to get me all wet" Becca still looked unamused "And Harley thought that returning the favor was good pay back." Becca shook her head and sighed "Get cleaned up" She walked off as Hayley followed. I looked at the floor to the carpet was soaking wet, My eyes trailed up to see Kendal was wearing socks with Squirrels on them " Nice socks" I snickered and started up the stairs.

"Here" I threw a shirt at him. "Why do you have guy's clothes here?" I sighed and stood from looking in Hayley's drawer "Hayley's brother stays with us sometimes when he's traveling." I walked out of her room and into mine "You can stop following me know. Go change" Kendal nodded as he started looking at the pictures I had on my walls, "That's Prince" I smiled and watch his eyes scan over a picture of my last year with my horse, Prince. "Where is he know?" He asked as he continued to look at the pictures "New York." He nodded and looked at me "Do you miss him?" I nodded softly. "How did you know the lyrics to that song earlier?" He shrugged and walked out of the room.

*****Kendal's POV:*****

I followed her into her room and was intrigued to see the pictures she had on her wall, I came to aSmall picture of Harley with a black horse "That's Prince" She smiled and I looked over the picture of them running on a beach "Where is he know?" I asked. I wanted to learn more about her, She was unlike any girl I have ever met. "New York." I nodded and looked at her, Her blond hair was dripping wet, Yet her deep blue eyes sparkled. "Do you miss him?" She nodded, I could tell that the horse was important to her so I left it alone "How did you know the lyrics to that song earlier?" I shrugged and walked out of the room.

I was in the hall way, Waiting for Shane to come pick me up. After the fiasco with the water he dropped us off here and drove home to get as much water out before the stains set in. Harley was coming down the stairs now as I heard her feet on the soft stairs. "See you tomorrow Strawberry" I winked as I heard the car pull into the driveway. I opened the door and walked over to the car "How was it?" Shane asked as I got in the passanger's side "You know. Harley" I groaned "I don't like her if that's what your implying." He shook his head as he pulled out of the driveway and started to drive home "That's one of the biggest lies ever told" I laughed and pressed my face to the window as the rest of the ride was silent.

*****Harley's POV:*****

I walked into the kitchen and went to the fridge, Preparing myself for another Lion King marathon. "Your friend there is cute huh?" I heard Hayley's voice as I stood to see her and Becca leaning on the kitchen island. I quickly got Oreos and dashed to he couch "Harley, Answer this question then" Becca said as she sat next to me, I watched the TV closely as Simba sang 'I Just Can't Wait To Be King'

I shook my head and Shifted, Jumping from the couch and swishing my way up the stairs before Shifting human again as the phone rang "Hello?" I heard Becca say as she answered it "What?! He can't just don't!" The angry call ended with Becca slamming the phone on the floor "Harley, Can you come down here" I obeyed and saw Becca, A worried look in her eyes "He's back" I felt the blood drain out of my body.

Sorry it took so long to upload, My laptop shut down before I could save it. So i'm using the home computer and some of the keys weren't working well so if something doesn't look right- lame the computer. Gifted got to 50 reads so yay! And thanks ^^ I have also decided the cast for Shane, Alec and Kendal.
