Roomies!

Jess and Sage appeared in the door. Hayley glared at Kendal before taking the two girl's bags. I swallowed when I saw Jess's resemblance to her brother Alec, "Harley!" Jess squealed and brought me into a bone crushing hug "Hi Jess" I managed to get out with the breath I still had in my lungs. She let me go and went to greet everyone else.

I looked at Sage who just waved shyly when she noticed Shane, I smiled and pushed the two into an awkward hug.

Shane has liked Sage and Sage has liked Shane. For six years, they haven't spoken more than a few sentences to each other. Hayley still glared at Kendal but I quickly took his hand and sunk into his side, I then remember I hadn't said anything about Kendal and looked to see Jess and Sage's eyes bugging out "This is my brother Kendal, he and Harley are good friends despite his being human. Yes he knows so you can Shift and talk about it as much as you'd like." Shane gladly spoke up.

I nodded "And I don't think in their waking hours have they been apart from each other for more than three hours" Becca giggled but I shooed her with my hand "I found them in the woods, wandering and tired" Hayley spoke up from behind the kitchen counter, quickly changing the subject and referring to Sage and Jess.

"Ya, well I just need to finish school and training and Sage finished her training and we were transferred so until we find a place to stay-"

"Yes you can stay with us" Becca said quickly. Sage nodded her brown wavy hair and looked at Shane and blushed. Sage had caramel eyes and her hair ranged from straight to curly. Jess looked more like her brother Alec, she had dirty blond curly hair and green eyes.

"Well Jess can be with me, Hayley can be by herself, Shane can be with Sage on the couches and Harley with Kendal!" Becca smiled and darted off to her room with Jess skipping after her friend.

I looked up at Kendal who shrugged, We walked into the kitchen and he smiled "What do ya want for dinner?"

Shane's POV

It was around 7 when Kendal and Harley decided what we were eating. Pizza spaghetti. "They always do this?" I nodded at Sage's question, we were on the couch and watching the entertainment of the playful fighting. "Pizza isn't very healthy!" Harley shot back at Kendal "Congress said it was a vegetable!" He threw a pepperoni at her which she caught swiftly.

"We usually eat out to avoid this" She nodded and looked at me. Harley then threw a handful of noodles at him which landed in his hair "Ha! Spaghetti!"

"Nope!" His smile was undeniable as he chased her around the kitchen and brought her into a hug. Both of them giggling.

"And they're not a couple?" Sage asked as she inched closer to me on the couch "No but we do have a bet on when they will be, my deadline is next month" I smiled and watched the two make a new food of pizza with spaghetti on top.

Sage just smiled and nodded "So Shane, how have you been?" I shrugged "Lonely" My eyes went wide as what I said without thinking, she giggled "Me too" and scooted closer to me.

Harley's POV:

It was around 10 when Doctor Who; Waters of Mars was almost over "I don't know why you like this stuff'" Becca complained as Ood Sigma stood on the street "It is amazing" Kendal said with humor in his voice. Becca, Jess and Hayley were curled up on the other couch while Shane was next to Sage and I was tucked into Kendal's side.

I watched the screen go black and back to Netflix "Yay!" Jess smiled and quickly hoped off the couch and up the stairs followed by the others, Shane and sage just sat there while I stood "Okay well good luck and good night" I winked at Shane who turned bright red. 

I darted off to the stairs to avoid further conversation "That was mean" Kendal whispered when we stumbled up the stairs "They needed a push" 

We entered my room and he laid on my bed "We need to talk" I closed my door and sat on my desk "What?" I ran my hand through my hair as he sat up "Earlier today, were you going to kiss me?" I fought down my blush as hard as I could "No" I squeaked out.

He stood and walked closer to me "So is that a yes?" I shook my head "Kendal if anyone found out that we were together it would be horrible. Please don't do this, you know I want to but you know we can't."

"But you want to" He smirked, I hopped off my desk and walked just a bit to meet Kendal "A forbidden romance, wouldn't that be exciting?" He inched closer to me and his scent quickly overpowered all of the others in the room. I looked up at him "Kendal-" He cut me off "Just once, kiss me just once and if you don't like it I can back off and just be your friend" He was closer now, his face inches from mine.

I opened my mouth but couldn't speak before his lips came crashing down on mine, sending a wave of flame inside of me.Our lips moved perfectly together and we only ever parted for a breath "Kendal-" I spoke quickly.

We parted and he looked at me "Well?" He smiled "Could we pull this off?" His smiled broadened as his arms slid around my waist, I bit my lip and looked away. His hand came up to my cheek and gently turned my head up to look at him "I think we could maybe pull it off for a bi-" His lips came down again sending the same feeling throughout my body, his hand trailed down to my waist again, leaving a burning trail, I wrapped my arms around his neck and played with his hair.

Knock knock "Harley?" knock knock "Kendal?" Jess's voice rang through the now quiet room.

We parted and began to catch our breath before Kendal opened the door "Yes?" He spoke with anger at being interrupted but still with kindness "Do you have another blanket we could use? The floor isn't very nice with one one blanket" 

"There's a blowup mattress in the garage, go ask Shane he can get it" She smiled and nodded before bouncing cheerily down the stairs, Kendal closed the door and sat on the bed "I think that ruined the moment" He spoke as he laid down, I shook my head "No, it gave us time to think"

I hopped into the bed next to him and nestled into his chest as his arm wrapped around me "We could try this" He softly spoke as he turned the lamp off.

"Ya, we could"

So sorry for the wait! I was busy and couldn't find my laptop charger... again. Sage is played by Leighton Meester and Jess by Hayden Panerttiere. Another picture of Harley on the side.
