Damn.

It's currently 2am, I'm in the middle of a deserted park and throwing M&Ms at Kendal.

"I can't catch them in my mouth" He said as I threw another which promptly landed in his lap "Try" I said as I took a red one and tossed it at him. It flew by his head. "You try" He took the bag and threw a yellow one at me which I effortlessly caught in my mouth.

"No far" He fake pouted, which looked really cute "How" I giggled and threw one at his nose "Your a wolf, you can catch one" I raised an eyebrow "Cat-like reflects is what your talking about. And I am not a cat"

"If I changed would I have your reflexes?"

His question made me flicker my eyes to the ground "Your not changing Kendal. I won't allow it" He brought his hand up to my cheek and made me look at him "I want to Harley" I shook my head "It's a horrible life Kendal. You can't tell anyone and the first change is always the most painful"

I winced at what I said, remembering the bending of bone, twisting of muscle the headaches and heartburn. "You would be worth it" I suppressed my memory at what he said "That's sweet but I would never want you to go threw that" His hand dropped from my face and he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to his chest.

I sighed as he rested his chin on my head "What's the worst thing that could happen?" He asked.

"Well, we always smell like a dog, when we get mad our eyes change to our other form's eyes, mistletoe is highly poisonous to us and can result in death if ingested, so Christmas time is hard, Wolfsbane we can't smell so it is difficult when our packs are attacked, we have two lives-"

Kendal cut me off "Really? Like a cat?"

I shook my head "It's worse, if we die in wolf form we become a human forever. If we die is human form we become a wolf forever, there is no way to get our human or wolf form back. It's horrible" Kendal looked at me with a confused expression "Don't you want to be human though?"

I just shrugged "People who lost their human forms live mostly in the Council's territory where they make up a story about their death. The human go into deep depression." Kendal sighed "I think you should change me"

"No"

"We could be together"

"No"

"We could go out in public together"

"No"

This went on for about 5 minutes before my phone buzzed with a message from our pack's beta Eric.

Alpha wants to see us. Now. Council has a message, you won't like it.

"Damn it" I said outloud before Kendal read the message over my shoulder "We can finish our date later" I nodded "You can go home, I'll just run there" Kendal shook his head "I can drive you" I shook my head "Our Alpha isn't very friendly to humans" He just nodded and I got off his lap reluctantly, he stood and looked into my blue eyes before brushing a stray piece of hair from my face and kissing me briefly "See you later" He breathed into my ear before shoving his hands in his pockets and walking out of the silent park.

I sighed and shifted 'You guys coming?' I linked with Shane 'Yep, the girls are almost there and Jess is going with that boy she was with. Sage and I are just leaving, where are you?' The wind picked up and blew a friendly summer breeze at me before I heard a stick crack. I bristled my fur and dropped into a crouch before snarling 'Harley!' a cheerful voice came from the bushes that I recognized as our Alpha female Grace. Her slender body appeared from the bushes, her green eyes shown as her brindle gray colored fur stood out in the foliage.
