I growled and put my ears back, circling the gray wolf as I twitched my blood covered tail.
"Give up now" I snarled at the weaker wolf "Not yet" He responded and leapt at me, his jaw open and ready to take me down. I dodged the attack and responded by snapping at the wolf's leg "Ready now?" I growled as the wolf now limped, he shook his head and lunged again.
I snarled again and also jumped, crashing in the wolf and brining him to the ground, I quickly pinned him down and growled "I win" I changed my expression to a wolfy grin and got off of the grey wolf.
"Harley, you couldn't have let me win for once?" Luke said as he stood and shook his bloody fur, which quickly disappeared.
It was around noon and no one was home, Shane and Sage were out with Barb, Hayley, Jess and Becca went to lunch at some exotic place far away and Kendal was at a job interview for the local highschool. So I decided to see the pack, I'd been training on fighting with Luke and since Shane had a special mixture you can drink that can heal wounds in a minutes time, no one's safety was at risk. Lilly was watching off to the side in her human form and still gripped the tree tightly when I attacked Luke, even though she knew I wouldn't hurt him.
I shifted back and stood up "Come on Lilly, just one fight" I pouted my lip in a playful way "I can't" She responded with a smile. "And why not?" My mind wandered to why she couldn't, wedding, sick, broken leg, arms... "Aunt Harley will know in nine months" She smiled again.
It took awhile to process the information coming at me before my eyes grew wide and smile stretched on my face "Your pregnant!" She nodded and hugged me "Luke" I raised an eyebrow and looked at him before he whimpered and sat down. "I found out yesterday, your the only one I told. We figured that since the wedding was in two months no one would mind." She smile and sat on the stump.
"So about the wedding, you and your plus one coming?" She raised her eyebrow knowingly, I immediately blushed "Uh plus one?" She huffed "You know who I mean. Kendal" I heard the muffled sound of Drive By and silently thanked whoever was calling.
"Hello?"
"Harley, Having fun with your sister and soon-to-be brother in law?" It was Alec
"How on earth did you get my damn number?" I tired not to be afraid but couldn't help but shake.
"It was in her contact list" He whispered before he laughed darkly and hung up.
"Harley! Quickly Luke smells blood!" Lilly's voice rang out, I shifted and dashed into the woods, kicking up dirt and running at a fast pace. The scent of tangy blood soon filled my nose "Harley, it's Akiko" I turned around think foliage to see a bloody mess of dark fur mixing with blood to make a horrifying reddish color.
"Luke, go look for help" He nodded and ran off back to the pack's camp. I looked at Akiko and began to lick away blood to see the wounds "No use. Too much" The weak wolf heaved out "Akiko, no it isn't. Luke is getting help, you'll be okay" She let out a breathy laugh "Alec and vampire. Another one too. Just too much. I couldn't"
"Akiko, you'll be okay. It will be fine" Her eyes began to flutter "Your in the wedding. Don't disappoint Lilly"
"Wolf's bane. You gotta love it's way of hiding your scent from the wolves" I turned at the new voice to see a black wolf "Who-" I was cut off by the wolf "Save your breath, you'll need it to cry" She flicked her tail at Akiko before I noticed the red shimmer of blood on her nails. "Alec needs me now" She laughed and disappeared into the mist.
"She didn't seem very nice" I turned to see a small, fragile looking white wolf. I bent my ears back and watched as the delicate wolf walked over to the near-dead Akiko "Stand back Harley" I let out a confused whimper but stepped back anyway, she bent her head to Akiko and began to lick her wounds.
