They Come for a Visit. (Pic of Lilly)

It was short and sweet but still growled for more. We parted for a moment as the awkward tension grew plus my phone shuffled when the song ended to 'The Lion King' soundtrack which resulted in a muffled laugh from Kendal. "I'm sorry. About earlier" He whispered, "But not so sorry since you never trusted me enough to tell me" I began walking to the car as his sentence finished "It's not that I didn't trust you, It's that we aren't allowed to tell" I sat in the car as he crawled in the driver's side "Why?" 

"Long ago there was a boy who was injured in the woods, with no one to help him the boy thought he would die out there until five animals came to his aid a Big Cat, Wolf, Bear, Fox and Birds of Prey. The animals all spoke 'How do we help?' The boy was stunned generally but dying eased this shock, the Wolf came by him and whispered in his ear as did the other four. They all wanted to become one with the boy to save him, shouting was in the woods as the boy's siblings came running and shouting for the animals to go. The Big Cat came to the first sister and blinked 'I choose her' the two became one as the sister became a Big Cat, the Wolf came to the second eldest and blinked 'She's mine' The Wolf became one with the girl and howled in this new found joy, The Bear came to the oldest son and roared 'This boy is now mine' as the united to one, The Fox came to the smallest boy and blinked 'I shall be one with him' the Fox shook as they joined and the Bird of Prey came to the final male sibling and cawed 'Mine' the boy flew up with the sun on it's wings. The wounded boy became healed as the animals came forward 'Come boy, Lead us in this new life. teach us to fight and heal from the other creatures in this world'  That is just what the boy did. As they all grew the animals multiplied the Cats turned to Prides, the Wolf to a Pack, the Bear to a Sleuth, the Fox to a Leash and the Bird to a Flock. The new found groups migrated and soon these creatures were everywhere, the boy grew to be the head Council man who made the rules and allowed five others to join the Council- The five original Gifted ones. That's where we come from, The Gifted."

I finished the history by the time we were half way home, Now I start on the rules " We have very strict rules, for one is we can't be mates with human or other creatures. By the way Kali is a Vampire. We have to be loyal to our group and Council which is why us is so dangerous, The Others as they are mostly called are your type of mythical creatures, Vampires, Wizards, Mermaids and so on. Real. All mostly friendly. We need to report to our groups at least once a week and help aid them in some way, either fighting or training or helping the Healer or the other jobs offered. Your brother is a Healer, he works with herbs and your medicines you know healing and such. We can't reveal ourselves to humans as that is one of our biggest rules there are many other rules but those are just a few" I finally finished by the time we pulled into his driveway to see the door open and the smell of blood strong.

"Oh my stars" I gasped as I ran out of the car into the house to see Shane's battered bloody body laying on the floor I heard a dark chuckle I heard from earlier with the mix of a haunting laugh. "Kali. Alec" 

"Harley!" Kendal ran in to see his brother lying on the floor he immediately knelled beside him and tried to speak to him. "Why? You know he can't fight" Kali stepped from out of the dark room "All the more fun" Her fangs gleamed with a hauntingly white glow, her eyes red with hunger. "Damn it Alec!" I screamed and Shifted, jumping and knocking him to the ground 'Give me one reason that I shouldn't kill you right now?' 

All that came out of his mouth was a laugh "I could change him" My ears flatten against my head at who he was talking about. Kendal. 'Don't you dare do that'  Now he Shifted and wriggled from under me 'Get out' I bared my teeth and leaped.

*****(Kendal's POV)*****

Shane's mangled body lay in front of me while I tried to make sense of this. Kali's a Vampire. Harley's words ran through my mind. I quickly found Shane's neck and checked for any marks, my hands were now a bloody mess. I turned to look at Harley who was in the heat of a battle, I watched as lamps and tables were destroyed with a simple kick of their powerful legs.

I turned back to see Shane in his human form, the shock in his eyes detected that I knew about the situation "What do I do? How can I help?" Shane laid there but eventually pointed to his phone "Lilly, Luke, Akiko" He chocked out, I nodded and quickly called Akiko.

"Hello? Shane?" I heard the voice at the other end and sighed in relief.

"No, This is his brother but you have to get here now. Bring Luke and Lilly too" Shane's breathing began getting shallower, I felt my eyes begin to swell with tears.

"Um okay" She hung up quickly as I turned back to Shane who's eyes flicked behind me. "You stupid stupid boy" Kali's voice rang out through the fighting, just glad we lived far off from civilization.  "Kali, just go" I turned and stood to face my ex, Her slightly red hair glistened against the light "I'll leave when you realize you love me and not that stupid mutt" She hissed through her teeth with a sense of stubbornness "Why are you with Alec?" She smirked at my question.

"Revenge. For breaking both of our hearts" 

"So you found comfort with each other?" 

"No, He has someone. I'll still be waiting for you. Always"

I started to open my mouth but Kali was knocked to the ground by a huge gray wolf. It's teeth inches from her neck "So your the brother I talked to?" I turned to see a girl with exotic features who must be Akiko "Ya" I looked at Shane was was being tended to by a small blond girl. "Akiko" She extended her hand and we shook "Kendal" She nodded and looked at the gray wolf  "Luke" then to the blond girl "Lilly, Harley's sister" I nodded again.

"The Council won't be happy. But I'm guessing you already knew that." She began to circle me, I nodded softly "Harley!" I heard Lilly call. "I have to see what's up" Akiko transformed into a slightly smaller dark brown, almost black wolf and galloped to Harley. I turned to Lilly and began helping.

*****Akiko's POV*****

"Akiko! I can deal with this myself!" Harley snarled at me as she and Alec tried to go at it again. I sat down and looked at both their states, Alec looked torn, beaten and bloody as did Harley. 

"Harley. Alec. Do what's best and just give up"  Harley's blue eyes became huge and full of stubbornness, Alec sat down and started to lick his fur clean "I'll be back my dear. When the time's right i'll introduce you to her"  His mouth formed a wolfish smirk as he strode out of the house. 

I watched him go but with a wonder in my mind. Who was 'she'. He couldn't mean Kali, I turned to see Luke snapping at her as her eyes became their normal green with realization that her partner in crime left. I turned to Harley who lay on the floor, her head on Kendal's lap as she whimpered softly.

*****Harley's POV*****

"Stay at my house tonight. With Shane. It'll be safer" I was trying to pursue Kendal into staying with Hayley, Becca and I at our house instead of his. "No, We're fine."  He said as he took the broom and started to swipe the broken glass. I looked around at the house, with Alec's threat to turn Kendal I didn't want him to leave my sight. "Shane's already there. Too many people" He dumped the glass and started working at mopping the blood.

"He's different. He needs someone to look after him" 

"I can take care of myself Harley. I'm good to fight too" 

With that I really took a look at him, He was short but well built with muscle. I bit my lip while eyeing him over "You can stop staring now" I snapped out of dream land and felt the blood rush to my cheeks.

"I was not!"

"Was too" His adorable smile came back.

"No, I was thinking that with no wolves here and I know they'll come back and I just-"

"Harley! I'll be fine." His eyes locked onto mine.

I glared at him and took the mop and his wrist, throwing the mop and dragging him out of the door

"Do you really want to argue with a wolf?"
