A Peculiar Fanfiction

~Chapter 1~

~Narrator POV~

It was July 21st 2016 when Miss Peregrines children were sitting in the large backyard of their new house, still getting used to the environment around them. The sun glittered on them as Claire was setting up a little tea party for herself, Bronwyn and the twins. Hugh and Millard were playing soccer as always and for once Horace decided to join in. Fiona was in her new greenhouse she had created and Olive, Enoch, Jake and Emma were monitoring all the children outside while Miss Peregrine was doing her daily chores in the house.

The house wasn't as big as the one they had in Wales, just a bit tinier. The one in Wales got destroyed and their lives transformed into 2016, although they didn't age and Miss Peregrine decided to make another loop incase of another Wight comes along or worse — A hollow.

~Claire's POV~

I happily begin to play with Bronwyn and the twin after mother went inside to do her duties, yes I like to think of Miss Peregrine as my mother because in some other planet it won't be as cruel as this one and it would make Miss Peregrine our mother, for now she's just our foster mother, though she's really a true mother and saviour to all of us.

Bronwyn laid the blanket out as the twins sat patiently on the side waiting for the tea party to be set up. 10 minutes later the tea party is ready to go, "Madame Bronwyn would you like some tea?" I said very lady like as Bronwyn nodded her head and said "Why thank you" I poured invisible tea into her cup and was about to move onto the twins when all of a sudden a big bird with a white head flew over the sky and into a tree. A few minutes of wondering I decided to tell Bronwyn and the twins. "Did you guys see that?" they both nodded as they were both shocked as I was. Maybe I should tell mother when she's done cleaning inside.

~Miss Peregrines POV~

'Finally I have finished cleaning' I thought to myself. I went to go and venture outside only to be greeted by little Claire running up to me and tugging onto my skirt. "What it is my dear?" I questioned while bending down to Claire's eye level "Miss Peregrine, is there any birds from the outside world in the loop?" Claire squeaked, this question hesitated for me to answer as that I am not exactly sure but birds from the outside world cannot enter the loop so it'll make sense that none will be in the loop. I shook my head "No Claire, why do you ask?" "Because, I saw another bird flying around, it looks very strong and I have never seen it before, maybe it's an ymbryne" Claire sounded a bit scared so I decided to hug her. I let go of the embrace as she runs off to play with my younger wards. My mind is still on the bird she described. 'Why does the description of strong remind of such thing?' I thought to myself but I found that I stumbled to where my older wards were so I decided to push that thought away.

"Hi Miss Peregrine" Emma and Olive said as I started making my way towards them "Hi, staying out of trouble I hope?" as I eyed them all, I started to pick up the fact they were all looking at each other which triggers me because what I said was suppose to be a joke of sarcasm. After minutes of hesitation the kids finally nodded, I'm not sure wether to believe them or not but I decided to anyways, beside they wouldn't lie to me I hope.

~Emma's POV~

Olive, Enoch, Jake and I were all talking and saw Miss Peregrine wondering around. "Hi Miss Peregrine!" Olive and I shouted in excitement. Miss Peregrine strolled to us and asked us if we have been staying out of trouble, I have no idea wether she was serious or not but I begin to feel awkwardness raising so I simply nodded a no. After a few minutes which felt like 10 years, our ymbryne was still in front of us and I see that Enoch and Jake are looking at the sky so I decided to look where they were looking and in the sky behind Miss Peregrine was a bird. I feel that Olive and Enoch are starting to tense up after staring at the bird in the sky.

~Miss Peregrines POV~

After a few minutes my oldest wards head started to wander behind me and I was curious as to what they were looking at. "Children, what are you looking at?" that also came out a bit more curiously that expected but it was true, Claire was acting all weird and now it was my 4 wards looking up behind me randomly. "Miss Peregrine, there was a bird behind you in the sky-" Enoch replied but Jake cut in "That was an eagle, it has a white head and mighty big wings, my dad does research on birds and I can tell it is an eagle" Jake was more saying that to Enoch as if he knew more and Enoch turned to Jake and I knew an argument was about to start up so I decided to say something before anything happens . "An eagle you say? How big you think it is?" by now I can feel they are starting to sense that I am acting weird and just before one of them answered I started to daze off into my own world full of memories.
