A Peculiar Fanfiction

~Chapter 5~

Note: I'm beginning to notice this is going into like a love story, later on in the story something interesting will actually happen. Sorry, this might sound pretty boring since it's just on like 1 topic but I assure you something will come, for now just bare with what is written and I know sometimes that it does not make sense or zero grammar but bare with me XD

~Emma's POV~

Me and the children heard Miss Peregrine calling out to Claire and I'm guessing Bronwyn and the twins as well but then this Derek guy turned around and before my brain could process what was happening, I saw Miss Peregrine running as if there was a hollow behind her, except that can't be imagined since the hollow will be dead by then, and then she jumped into this strangers arms that swung her around. When she was randomly put down after that she told us all to introduce ourselves to him, she seems really happy that guy is here.

~Children's POVS~

"Hi I'm Fiona" I said with a smile "Ah, yes, I saw you growing some plants and making shapes with the hedges around here, they look gorgeous" Derek replied.

"I'm Bronwyn" and with that I lifted him into the sky and put him down "Woah, strong one you are" he said in a childish voice.

"Emma, nice to meet you. How long have you known Miss Peregrine?" I had millions of questions but this one seems to be the only one coming out "Since she was 10" and with that he threw Miss Peregrine one of his winks as she rolled her eyes.

"I'm Hugh! I hope you like bees" I left that conversation with a few bees following me behind, I could see that guy was staring at me as I walked away.

"I'm Millard, don't sit or stand on me please" I noticed I wasn't wearing clothes and Miss Peregrines hawk-like eyes looked at me "Millard put some clothes on!" I grumbled and walked to where I last left my clothes and Derek was obviously confused.

I tug at his legs and he looked down "I'm Claire" I said indicating him to pick me up, when he picked me up I whispered something so no one else could hear, we both laughed at what I said, it was something about Miss Peregrine and we both looked at her.

"I don't like you. I'm Enoch. Bye" I wasn't in the mood to greet an unexpected visitor, if I was I would have been more polite.

"I'm Olive, why did you come here?" I was trying to be nice, "You'll find out soon" he replied and with that, I walked away.

"Hi, I'm Jacob Portman" I said with a wave and weary smile. "Portman you say? You're Abe Portman's grandson, happy fellow he was"

"Horace, nice shirt" I commented and walked away

"These are the twins" Miss Peregrine walked over to Derek to introduce us as we were tugging at her navy skirt. "Twins you say? I have something to give you guys" we squealed in excitement as Derek gave us 2 identical stones "I found them on my many adventures" we took them and thanked him as much as we could so he could understand since we couldn't physically speak.

~Miss Peregrines POV~

After everyone introduced themselves they went back to their positions they were standing in before getting into a line. Moments past before Enoch broke the silence "So, you still need to introduce yourself properly" I picked up his harsh tones but brushed it off since it's just Enoch way of talking.

"Well, I am Derek Eagle, half eagle half wolf. I'm like 29 in the loop but in reality I'm just 2 years older than your dear headmistress" With that he threw me one of his charming winks people like to call them when I was younger. I'm pretty sure all the children's saw that by the way they were looking at us.

"So, how did you guys meet?" Claire wondered, it wasn't usual for her to ask these type of questions. "Miss Avocets loop, I'm guessing you guys know who Miss Avocet is right?" they slowly nodded as if they discovered something completely gross.

~Enoch's POV~

"Children, why don't you guys get back to your previous activities" Miss Peregrine told us, I felt like we were missing something so before anyone could answer her I shook my head indicating 'no' and I saw her sharp hawk-like eyes scanning me "We should get to know Derek should we not Miss?" I replied sounding really stubborn.

I saw Miss Peregrine in deep though before saying "We can discuss after dinner" and with that she walked away and told everyone to finish their previous actions.

I wasn't really in the mood to talk much but I got bored and there was an awkward silence between Jake, Emma, Olive and I. "Do you guys think something is up?" I questioned and Olive looked at me with confused written all over her face and Emma probably knew what I meant and she just nodded as well as Jake.

~Emma's POV~

Enoch actually spoke to us if he was interested in such a thing, he asked us if we think something rather odd is going on and I nodded.

"Like what?" I wanted to make sure I was on the same page as Enoch "Well, this guy showed up in the middle of no where and the minute Miss Peregrine saw him, she jumped on him and they embraced a hug" Enoch replied to what I was asking and this kind of put me in a thought "Yes, but remember what Derek said? They have known each other for an eternity unless something happened and like they got split or something, could explain her happiness, but just brush it off, there's going to be a day we are going to miss her happiness and what we witnessed 10 minutes ago will be a memory of seeing her happy" I snapped leaving them speechless, I don't feel like thinking that anything is serious between them because that isn't Miss Peregrine, she always puts her children between anyone else and Derek isn't going to just take that rule away.

That conversation was over after what I have said and I walked away to check on Fiona in her garden area she's working in.
