Ch.14 New Members

I woke up still full from last nights feast. I had gone to bed late yesterday so the pups are huddled around Spot. I walk to the river and star lapping up water my ear flinched there was something in the bushes
"Who goes there?"I bark
It wakes almost everyone up. Three wolves step out of the shadows followed by Spot, Shine and Stride.
"We are look for someone to merge with and we though we could join you" the large grey silver wolf asked
"Well you'll have to ask Alpha, but I'm sure it will be ok" I replied
Breeze ran up beside me, she looked unorganised and she didn't know what to do.
"I'm Alpha, and I'ld love for you to merge with our pack" she barked "Fine with you right Beta?" She added
"Positive, May I ask what are your names?" I asked
The large wolf took another step towards me, he only just towered over me
"I was their Alpha, so my name now is Silver" he reported
A tan wolf that almost looked like a rusty gold coulor stepped for ward followed my a smaller brown wolf
"I'm Gold, and he's Bronze. We're all litter mates" the female wolf giggled
"Nice names, well Gold you can be on Boarder watch for now, your led by Alpha. And Sliver and Bronze you can be Prey dog--hunter until we find your strong point" I order
They nod their heads and walk of to meet and greet the others.
I continue lapping up water.
"How can you be so calm!" Breeze panicky barks
I shrug my shoulders
"I have the best idea for what we could do today, just get everyone to the prey circle" I asked
She tilted her head then walked of to gather everyone

(Later that day)
"Me and Alpha have gathered you here today to practise our battle positions, since we have had many intruders lately and in the past" I announced
"Pups and the weak in the middle strongest on the outside"Alpha barks
I jump down from my rock that makes me feel superior and join the fake battle. Me, Alpha, Silver, Gold, Spot, Dig and The older Flower make a ring on the outside. Bronze, Fang, Shine and Bolt fill the gaps and a final protection ring formed by Max, Rain and Stride around Flower, Shadow, Mist, Rose and Thistle.
"Good, Good is anyone not happy with it or where they are" I question
No one responds
"Ok" Alpha barks "Everyone dismissed Boarder dogs follow me and Prey dogs follow R-Beta" she adds
Me followed by Silver, Bronze, Bolt, Tackle, Nala, Dig, Whisper and Fang head into the east forest.
"Tackle Take Fang, Bolt, Whisper, Dig and Nala South be back just after mid day please" I order
They start walking to the south part of the forest
"Sliver, Bronze your with me"I say as I start walking North
"What's your real name?"Bronze questions
"My name is Raven, but call me Beta" I answer
"Don't say thins to Alpha but I think she's not fit for Alpha" He admits
"She's my best friend, buy I think the same she has only been Alpha for a month or two" I reply
"Pig, North east" Bronze whispers
We head towards the wild creature but it was accompanied by another,
"Silver, Bronze take the big one on the left, I'll take out the other on the right"I whisper "Go"
I launch myself at the wild boar straight for its neck my teeth sink into is thick fur. It squeals then drops dead. Silver and Bronze walk over to me with their catch then we took them home. We were a bit late
"Your late" Alpha growled then giggled
Everyone gathered around
"Silver you eat after Nala then Gold then Bronze after for tonight" Alpha announced
The others got seven ferrets and a squirrel.
"Wolves please make sure there's enough for the others" I bark
Alpha steps forward and takes a ferret, I take a biggish chunk of the pig the rest is shared among everyone else.
"The last Alpha we had basically took half the prey that we caugh there were eight of us. I hate him" Silver whined
"You don't hate him you dislike him so do we" Gold corrected
"He was our father" Bronze barked
"You make a great pack" Gold mentioned
"Thanks" me and Alpha reply at the same time.
I walk of and sit beside my pups they were taking turns play fighting. Thistle came up to me from the side line and showed me his paw. A prickle was lodged in is paw pad smudged dry blood surrounded it.
"How did you do that?" I questioned
He sniffled
"We were playing beside a prickle patch and Rose pushed me" he whined
I looked at Rose
"I swear I didn't mean to" she protested
"Did not!" He replied
"Did to!" She mocked
"Alright pups alright" I barked as I interfered there argument.
I want to spend the day with you tomorrow pups and teach you a thing or two" I bark
They nod. I walk of to find Tackle
"Can you lead the hunt tomorrow, no questions" I asked
"Sure thing Beta" he replied
"Snake incoming!" I heard in the distance
I swiftly walked over to my pups
"See that? Do never go up to one they kill you in one bite, it's what killed Buzz" I bark to my pups
The snake comes close to us
"Just walk back slowly" I whisper
We walk back Rose steps on a pointy rock, she yips in pain. The snake flings forward but is thrown down by Spots large paw the snake didn't want revenge it slithered of into the long grass.
I lick Roses wound the lye down and swiftly fall asleep.
