Soleis

I close my phone and lay back. My day has been pretty crazy, and I was ready to blackout. I trudge to my dresser and slip into my pyjamas, falling back onto my bed. Pixie pops her head in the door.

"Hey, I'm making pizza for dinner, what kind do you want?" I groan and sit up.

"Whatever you're eating is fine." She nods and walks away, closing my door behind her.

I grab my laptop and scroll through Pinterest. It seems like everything that I was seeing was somehow related to Aries. I still had a lot to uncover from her, and whenever I saw one of those astrological things I wondered what would fit her. I assumed she was an Aries, and related stuff to her from what I knew.

I didn't really know how I felt about Aries. I wasn't sure if she liked me. I was sure if I even liked her. But as I closed my laptop and saw my bird picture, I knew that she was my soulmate. That we would make it work. That we could love each other. No matter how long it took.

I turned off my light and sat in the dark, staring at my ceiling. My phone buzzed and I saw a FaceTime request from Hayli, so I answered, the light from our house at home lighting up my face.

"Hi, Soleis! Why haven't you answered my calls lately?" I smiled at my young sister's enthusiasm.

"There's been a lot going on lately. I'm sorry, I was going to call back. But how's mom? And dad?"

"They're good. We all miss you. I totally forgot how thick your accent is now." I smirked.

"Me? Accent? You're talking. I can barely understand you, with your American accent." She laughed and called over mom.

"Mom!! Soleis is on the phone!!" Mom walked over, sticking her face in front of Hayli's. "Hey, sunshine. How's school been?" I smiled.

"Good. I'm about to finish term, so I'll have a break soon. Maybe you guys can come here for a visit soon?" I looked at my phone hopefully. Mom rolled her eyes playfully.

"I'll have to talk to dad about that. But maybe." I grinned madly.

"Yes!! Thank you mom!!" Mom smiled and stood up. "Hayli, it's time to get off the phone. It's nearly 8:30 and you need to finish your homework." Hayli groaned.

"Fine," she turned to me. "I love you, sis! I'll talk later!!"

I smiled. "Okay. I love you too, talk soon!!"

She hung up and I smiled. I missed my family, but they might visit soon, so it's good I guess. I looked out the window. I didn't notice the time, past midnight. I closed my phone and laid down, closing my eyes and falling into the grasp of sleep.
