Chapter 4b - Its Gonna be a Good Life

Kath P.O.V

                “See you later lads!” I over hear Louis as he shuts the door. “Whew...everyone’s gone now. It’s just you, me, and Sofs...even though she’s asleep.” I try not to show my disappointment when I don’t hear Harry’s name.

                “But I thought Harry lived here too?” I mention casually.

                “Yeah, he does but he’s going out tonight.”

                “But it’s like 1 in the morning?”

                “Yeah...that doesn’t stop Harry love. Here, come sit. Let’s talk.” Louis pats the spot beside him on the couch.

                “Talk about what?” I ask as I plop myself down next to him.

                “Like about you and that Logan kid. What happened?” Louis ponders.

                “I don’t really wanna talk about him, ok? We were awhile ago, and that chapter of my life is over. I’ve moved on.” I haven’t even told Sofia about what happened between Logan and me. I don’t even have all the details figured out for myself, those days are still foggy.

                “Alright, you don’t have to tell me now, but if you ever want to. I’m always here, don’t forget that.” Louis pulls me in for a hug.

                “Thank, Lou.” I muffle out, before the tears start to come down.

Louis P.O.V

                “Do you want another cup of tea?” I ask Kath. She wipes her eyes and shakes her head no.

                “Nah, I’m alright.”

                “You sure?” I hesitate. Something is up with her and that Logan kid. I want to help her, but she won’t tell me. Complete opposite of Sofia, she’d tell me anything, and trust me, knowing the exact days of her period aren’t really that important to me.

                “Yeah. All your friends seem nice though!” Kath perks up.

                “They’re my brothers; I couldn’t imagine life without them.”

                “Just a question....”

                “Anything.”

                “I thought you said Niall and Emma were dating? Because to me, it looks like they’re just good friends.”  I start to laugh.

                “The Nemma relationship has got to be the most confusing one of them all. Niall and Emma are the two friends that both like each other, but haven’t asked each other out yet.”

                “But they both like each other?” Kath wonders.

                “I’m positive.” We both go silent for a few minutes, still absorbing all the action of that night. Kath starts to yawn and stretches out on the couch.

                “Tomorrow, we have to go to some work at the studio. Emma works there, so if you want you can come and spend the day with her, oh and us of course! Or you can stay at home, explore the neighborhood a bit?” I ask, hoping she comes with us to the studio. I’ve really missed them both, and want to spend as much time with them as possible.

                “I’ll have to see what Sofia wants to do. But the studio sounds like fun!” Kath wanders up off the couch and heads for the stairs.

                “I’m going to go to bed now. Good night Louis. And thanks again for letting me live here too.”

                “Hey, no problem love. You’re my sister, well pretty much.” Kath laughs and starts to climb the stairs.

                “Wait, Kath.” I run over to the stairs. “Harry’s a flirt, watch out for him. I don’t want to see you get hurt.” Kath goes kind of pale and continues walking up the stairs. She might not think he likes her that much, but she should trust me. I am his best friend and I’ve seen that look in his eyes before.
