*you should play the song "Breathe Me" - by Sia, it makes it sound more emotional and that's how I wrote it :) but you don't have to or anything*
Louis walked slowly towards the grave of his little sister. It felt like she had passed away only yesterday, when in reality, it was five years ago. He crouched down beside the headstone, resting his hand on the top, brushing the dust and dirt off her name.
"Hey Sofs." He said quietly, not wanting the tears to come down, but he knew they would anyway. "You've been quiet for awhile. It's been weird not hearing your voice every day. Remember the times we would go down to the park, with mom and dad? And you would always beg to let them take you down to the waterside so you could feed the ducks? I swear, those ducks were the best fed ducks in all the countryside." Louis' gaze turned to the sky, where the eerie black clouds began rolling in.
"I've been back there. I took along a fresh baked loaf of bread, like you used to, and I tried feeding them, but...but you were always so good with them, and I...I can't...I can't..." The tears started to roll down Louis' face, and he furiously wiped them away. "You wouldn't believe the news, Sofs. So many things have happened since you left." Louis leaned his head back, deciding to sit cross legged in front of his sister's grave, smiling the way he used to before Sofia passed away. "The house has been so quiet, with Harry and Kath gone. They went to Jamaica, but their back now, their faces still fresh with the honeymoon glow. I'm really happy for Harry, I am...but you don't know how much I'm going to miss him."
A few birds tweeted in the distance, warning each other of the coming thunder storm. "I haven't seen Liam in ages, or Danielle. But I guess they've both got their hands full with little Amelia running around. She's a sweetheart, Sofs, you would have loved her. She's the cutest little thing you've ever seen."
The clouds were coming in thicker now, and the entire graveyard was in silence. "I think that the most craziest thing is that you wouldn't even know Em's pregnant. She's seven months and you'd think she were only one! Niall's ecstatic though, always got a smile on his face, well more than usual, telling everyone, he's so proud. He's going to make the best dad Niall is."
Louis folded his hands in his lap, piercing with his eyes the grave marked 'Sofia Tomlinson'. "I was reading the paper the other day, and I came across Kayleigh's name. She's married now too, to a guy named Luke Brooks. I just can't believe it, seems like only yesterday we were still together." A fat water droplet landed on Louis' cheek, and he gazed to look up at the dark black sky. "But in more important news, Sofs, you remember how I told you, a few years ago, that I met someone knew? Well, I'm going to ask her to marry me Sofia, today." Louis' hands started to shake, and he couldn't control the tears any longer. "I just wish, I wish so badly that you were still hear Sofs. I miss you. You're my little sister, you're all I had left. I need you, Sofia." Louis' face stared intently at the grave head stone, desperately aching to hear something back.
Minutes passed by, and the rain was pouring heavily now. Louis' tears fell in time with the rain as he pushed himself up off the ground. He rested his forehead on the headstone, whispering quiet words. As he rose up, he pulled out a small sunflower, Sofia's favourite, and laid it gently against her head stone. "Goodbye Sofia, for today, because I know I'll see you soon." He whispered and walked out of the graveyard, his clothes now soaked and his hands dirty with mud. He turned back one last time, to get one last glimpse, before lifting up the hood on his jacket, and walking somberly home. So much had changed, in so little time.
