Once Upon a Genie~ An OUAT Fan~Fiction.

Cheating brings no fun

Ever since their little story time, everone shut up and followed Regina who 'cheated' by using magic to find the camp.The lost boys that were under the age of fifteen stayed with Violet at the new camp and played around the bonfire. The others and Peter Pan patiently waited for their cheaters to arrive to show them their way of reminding Henry's rescue team that a game is never fun when a player deceives the others.

While all this action was happening, Violets mind was ocupied and she wasn't in the best mood. The trees didnt look as green and the soft soil now felt like sandpaper. Her thoughts were a mess causing the island to adapt to her mind. She was thinking of the new commers on Neverland and thinking about Rumple. When the Fire noticably dimmed, the lost boys stopped playing and looked to their mother. Feeling her sadness.

When Henry noticed this, he walked over to try and bring her out of her trance. "Are you alright?"

"Oh! Im so sorry children." She apologized once she looked up and heeded her surroundings. She made the fire roar to life, making the children cheer and start dancing and howling.

"Mummy's had a ruff day. Im feeling the tiredness slip in." The Genie answered Henry while giving him a side hug.  Henry just smiled at her sadly and let her lay her head on his shoulder. When she closed her eyes Henry for sure thought she was sleeping. Her breath ad evened out and she seemed relaxed instead of her tense state before.

Cautiously he whispered. " I miss you Genie. Its not the same anymore." He stared at the lost boys before continueing. " I remember that day I died. My mom told me you were crying and in a way I felt your pain. When I left, it felt like my heart was stinging. It wasnt too bad I promise. "

"We werent scared of you if thats what you were scared of before. We didn't think you were a monster. We all love you so much. Me, Emma, David, Mary Margaret, even my mom Regina. I even think that lousy Hook has a soft side for you." His eyes welled up with tears. He didn't want to lose her. She was a big influence on him his whole life. Genie was the one who believed in him when he told everyone they were book characters. Violet didn't think he should've went to a therapist or be watched at all times. She listened and agreed. Made him feel like he wasn't crazy.  She is the reason he has the heart he does now.

"That's why I'm helping Peter by giving him my heart. It will save magic and you Violet. I feel like you've already drifted away so much. At first your memories went away and now you're zoning out, like you are losing your place in reality. Its really hard but I'm trying to be strong for you. I will be strong for you." He wiped his tears quickly so the lost boys wouldn't notice and stared up at the stars. Maybe his family really was coming but either way, he wanted to save magic, him and Peter were going to do so tomorrow.

Lets hope all goes according to plan.

Later on, Shadow blew out the fire and made everyone go to bed. He picked up Violet and carried her to her new treehouse, carefully laying her in bed. Believe it or not, this shadow only felt emotions when it came to her. Love every time he had the chance to admire her, hatred when he saw her and Peter together, and sadness when he realized they could never be together.

"You're so powerful, strong and beautiful but too naïve to realize you are just a player in his game too." He whispered,  gently removing a piece of hair from her face." For once, Hook was right. All you want is love. But you need to know that he isn't giving it to you. Your mind is still in a haze from when you first met. I hope your heartbreak wont be the last thing you feel." And for the first time ever, Shadow felt pity.

The next morning Genie couldn't get Shadows words out of her head. Even though he whispered his voice speaks volumes and gives off intimidation; the reason she woke up. It could be heard from miles away. Was she really being naïve? Shadow has always been honest to her, never lied to her.

His words made her heart crack but she needed a bit more conformation. So she decided to visit the person who knew the most about Peter Pan, and that was Capitan Hook.

When she went out to find them after breakfast, she cried a tear every step she took. She didn't sit next to Peter at the table like she usually did, didn't even talk to him. But she did observe him, even stared him down with her piercing purple eyes. Peter was ,of course, confused but didn't think about it. His thoughts were all on Henry. Today was the day that he got the heart of the truest believer.

When she finally came across the group everyone stopped and looked at her. Snows face softened when she saw the Genie's red eyes, signifying that she had been crying.

"Hook may I speak with you?"

"I'm all ears sweetheart." He said with his British accent slightly slurring. As he started walking away, Regina was quick to protest.

"I don't think so. This could be one of his plans. To take Hook first and then kill us off one by one. If you have something to say, you can say it in front of all of us."

Violet glared at the Evil Queen but then looked into Hooks eyes. "He doesn't really love me does he?"

Everyone was shocked. They thought she was going to threaten them or beat them up. Something that wasn't....that.

"Shadow.. he uh.. said a thing or two about Peter thinking I wasn't listening to him but who couldn't." She chuckled sadly." He really didn't love me? All this time?"

Hook took her trembling hand in his and held in tightly. "He only lusted for you at first. Then when you two ran away from the village together he felt burdened by you and Rumple."

Violet let the tears fall and Hook pulled her into his chest and dragged her a little ways away from the group.

"After that he just lusted after your power, he wanted what you have. He never felt love in his life. He is a coward. That's why he left Rumple in the enchanted forest. He just thought of himself-"

"Wait what did you say?" Violet pulled away. "Peter told me that Rumple died when I finally returned  back home. He said that when they came to Neverland together he was really sick and he died here. In the meadow." Violet was now sobbing. " He lied to me! Why? Why?"

She collapsed on the ground and screamed her heart out. He never loved her. Never loved Rumple. Lied to her about his death. He lied to her this whole time! Violet wasted her life trying to find him. This man that was the 'love of her life'! All to find out that there was never any love in his black heart that she thought she made beat again. The island violently pulsed with every scream, making every person on it hold on to the nearest thing they could find. A type of power surged from her body, throwing hook backwards a bit, along with the trees and bushes. Seeing as she wouldn't stop soon, Regina and Emma came closer to her in hopes of calming her down.

"He's here Violet. If you want to see him." Emma said referring to Mr. Gold.

"He wouldn't remember me. I left when he was about five. God I bet he hates me for leaving him." she replied while crying, her voice a little raspy.

"He actually misses you believe it or not. You knew him for some time and he always observed from afar." Regina said, looking  at the hot mess on the floor with  pity. The Evil Queen knew how her heart break felt and hated the person she became because of it.

"When did this happen exactly?"Regina explained what had happened to Violet's memories and when she finished Shadow came rushing in.

"I heard your screams. Which one of them hurt you?" He was angry and his red eyes looked like the brightest flame, ready to burn.

"Peter. Peter did."

"You know now don't you?" He asked. She just nodded and looked at Regina.

" Evil Queen of the enchanted forest, please bring back the memories he has erased. This is the only time I will give you permission to use magic on me." She said sternly. Regina of course obliged to her friend and sent a spell to her head with a zap. Shadow was there to catch her of course,as Genie had passed out,and looked towards Emma.

"I'm only helping you for my queen. Peter is taking Henry to skull island, right off mermaids lagoon, when the sun sets. He's prepared to take the heart of the truest believer for himself. Don't let this happen." And with that he flew away.
