Xavier's School, 1993
Lynn's POV
Years flew by and it never felt more rewarding to see our young graduating mutants integrating and assimilating themselves into a world of humans like they were equals. Although gifting them with the ability to play a stable and productive role in our society was the ultimate aim of Xavier's School, it was pleasing to know that our alumni shared the same passion for teaching and spreading mutant knowledge as much as we did.
Upon returning with her medical degree from Columbia University, Jean opted to join as faculty, as did her teammates, Scott, Jubilee, Kurt, Storm, Peter and Wanda once they completed their college level studies at our institute. With the youngsters coming to maturity and taking over most of the tutoring duties, the workload of Charles and I were greatly relieved, mainly revolving around overseeing the entire operations of the academy and other administrative matters ever since.
Finally with more time for our own research once again, Charles mostly remained in his study during and even after the school hours, away from the noise and crowd as he indulged in the latest Genetics communications and articles.
Knowing where he would be in the middle of a random afternoon, I quietly spied into his room via the concealed bookcase that connected our offices, finding his drink almost fully consumed. Brewing him a fresh pot of Earl Grey and retrieving a small platter of biscotti to go with his beverage, I discreetly entered through my side, cautiously replacing his emptied cup and plate.
Charles was typically engrossed in his papers as I set down his snacks, not realizing how near his hand went to the vintage china that contained a burning tea when he intended to pick it up.
"Be careful, my dear," I chastised, hurriedly grabbing his palm before the scalding surface could hurt him.
"It's still hot. Have it later," I appealed, looking at him anxiously but he simply smiled as he chucked his documents away.
"Then I'll have you while waiting," he teased, pulling me forcefully onto his lap and cuddled me like how he used to when we had no use of our legs.
"You love this position, don't you?" I playfully contended and he smirked.
"It's a habit I can't seem to kick," he claimed and if I had to admit, it was undeniably one of my favourites as well.
Charles started to slide his hand up my thigh, pushing the hem of my skirt up as he worked kisses around my neck. Moaning slightly, I locked both our doors to prevent any possible interruptions as our intimacy escalated but it was miscalculated regardless. Amidst our passionate kisses, I slipped my hand down to his pants, unbuckling his belt and undid the zipper as I felt him tugging on my undergarment when the phone rang, startling both of us.
"Seriously?" Charles scoffed, absolutely annoyed by the irritating sound that repeated intermittently as the buzzer flashed, indicating an active caller.
"I can stop the children but I can't stop that," I remarked helplessly, reluctantly removing myself from Charles and lifted the corded handset off its console to my ear as Charles adjusted both our attires to a presentable form.
"Xavier's School for the Gifted. How may I help you?" I spoke spiritedly but having said it so many times, it felt more like a regurgitative recording that spouted from my mouth whenever my hands made the action of answering the line.
"I think... I just... Fell through a wall..." A little girl stammered softly from the other side.
"Calm down, my darling. I'm Lynn. Will you tell me your name?" I asked kindly but her erratic breathing continued to dominate her end.
