Lynn's POV

Remaining completely silent, Jubilee visually surveyed the house essentially like her first day here, except with her initial excitement and enthusiasm now replaced with frustration and distress as she apparently failed to recognize a single inch of the sights. Regardless of the detailed tour Hank and I attempted to give, we obviously failed to evoke any recollection of hers regarding the mansion as Jubilee continued about in her disoriented motion.

With the newly weds closely tailing us, Jubilee's prevailing troubles were only further perturbed as we all descended towards the basement. Jean perpetually stared at her within the confined cylindrical chamber and Jubilee instinctively shunned her gaze away from those scrutinizing green eyes, shielding herself timidly behind my chair.

While Jean was probably just aiming to fathom the curious symptoms exhibited by her utterly clueless childhood playmate, her mindless behavior was disturbing nonetheless and the alcohol raging through her veins surely rendered her negligent to the fact.

Jean, stop it, please. You're scaring her, I alerted politely and Jean blinked, staring at me in a daze before her expression transformed to one of awareness.

I'm sorry, Jean frantically apologized but I subtly shook my head and smiled warmly at her.

Just get yourself together before you speak to her again, alright? I kindly advised and Jean buried her face into her palms, nodding obligingly as the curved doors opened up.

Exhaling in relief as the sleek corridors were swiftly unveiled, Jubilee seemingly found solace in the bluish environment, pacing out into the sleek surroundings, moderately appeased. Discreetly, Jean dragged Scott along towards the washroom, quietly making themselves scarce, while Hank and I ushered Jubilee back to her ward.

"Take a seat, my darling. Hank is just going to run some tests on you. There's nothing to worry about," I reassured, smiling amiably as I guided her onto her bed.

"Are you my family?" Jubilee sputtered uncertainly, speaking for the first time since we left the gardens, while Hank deviated off to fetch the necessary equipment.

"We're all your family, Jubilee," I affirmed, nodding with a wide smile.

"And the fireworks, you said it's my power?" Jubilee verified with hesitancy.

"Yes. We're all mutants here. We all have gifts of our own and yours happens to be the ability to release plasmoid energy," I enlightened proudly.

"Why can't I remember anything?" She lamented, angrily combing her fingers through her luscious black mane.

"Relax, Jubilee. You were involved in an accident a long time ago. We couldn't find any witnesses but we think you might have hit your head," I replied in a delicate tone.

"How long are we talking about?" Jubilee investigated warily.

"You've been asleep for almost ten years now," I revealed softly and she stunned, staring at me with unadulterated horror beaming from her watering eyes.

"I know it's a lot to take, but you're not alone. We're all here to help you, I promise," I reiterated sincerely as Hank reemerged with all the required gadgets.

"I'll just leave Hank to check on you and maybe he can tell us what's wrong, alright?" I suggested, squeezing her palm supportively.

"Could she stay?" Jubilee requested eagerly, grabbing tightly onto my hand, as she peered up at Hank.

"Of course, she can," Hank readily agreed and I nodded, inducing a genuine smile onto her face.

Upon conducting a series of analyses on Jubilee, Hank diligently talked her through all of the examination results and Jubilee seemed to settle down as she progressively learnt about her own condition.
