Lynn's POV
"Have you guys seen Bobby and Rogue?" Jubilee investigated with a troubled face, panting heavily, as she chaperoned a modest group of teens including Peter, Kitty, Theresa, and several others.
"Something's happening in the food court," Jean unveiled with a frown.
"Hey, everything alright?" Scott interrupted softly as he materialised out of nowhere with a DSLR slung around his neck, surrounding his arms snugly around Jean and they kissed passionately like nobody was watching.
I think I'll join you, Jubilee, I remarked playfully and she nodded furiously in agreement, keenly gesturing for me to follow her as she readily escorted her obedient, giggling, bunch towards the said commissary.
Discreetly, I removed myself from the couple, not that the secretive departure was important as their French kiss dominated all their attention for them to notice regardless, and swiftly propelled myself towards the further wing on the same level where the bistro resided.
Approaching the area in concern, the teenage bickering resonating in my mind progressively transformed from psychic noises into distinct voices heatedly barking at each other. From a few meters away, the immature quarrel was already clearly discernible as a pair of unfamiliar boys stood before the listless gang of Rogue, Bobby and John.
"Can I have a light?" The younger of the unidentified males, cigarette in hand, requested again, civilly but emphasized each word in an obviously impatient tone.
John opened the cap of the Zippo that perpetually shadowed him everywhere he went and blatantly flaunted the vivid flame dancing brilliantly from the fuel port, admiring the bright orange hue, as he faked an expression of dilemma. Quickly, his face embraced his usual mischief again, spreading a conceited smirk across his lips as he effortlessly snapped the metal encasing shut and contained the small blaze within.
"Sorry. Can't help you out, pal," John brazenly taunted and his companions scoffed, unimpressed, while the human brothers huffed in annoyance.
"John, knock it off," Rogue suggested casually.
"Why don't you stop showing off?" Bobby proposed in frustration.
"For her? I can't help it if your girl's getting excited," John teased audaciously as he flashed Rogue a sly smile.
Rogue plainly reciprocated a face of pure disdain as she zoned out from the childish feud brewing between the agitated boys around her, slouching back nonchalantly, until she realized the acts of the human male towering above her. His ogling gaze glued itself to her inviting cleavage peeking from her low cut top, not ending his offensive scrutiny despite her constant glares, and she rolled her eyes, shaking her head scornfully as John and Bobby continued bantering.
"John, that's enough. Give this young man a light, please," I intervened courteously as I left Jubilee behind, rolling up to the scene.
"Lynn?" Rogue and Bobby blurted in confusion as they all sported appalled faces upon recognizing me.
"No!" John protested defiantly.
"Aww, is this your mommy?" The elder human sibling mocked flippantly, visually examining me in an absolutely repugnant manner, as he disrespectfully leaned against the frame of my chair without even thinking to seek permission.
"No!" John snarled in disgust.
"C'mon, listen to wheelie mommy," the other brother ridiculed in unadulterated contempt and his heedless comment stabbed deeply, agonizingly, and torturously into my heart as he rashly crashed into my chair, boldly snatching over the lighter from John's hand.
