Xavier's School, April 2003

Lynn's POV

With an abundance of patience and guidance provided by her friendly peers, Jubilee quickly adapted to life at the mansion. Despite her peculiar condition, her exemplary educating abilities subsetted the portion of her skills that were not diminished and upon shadowing her for merely several sessions, it was unanimously agreed amongst the faculty members to reinstate her positions prior.

Confidently, Jubilee fulfilled her instructional duties in Arts and History for the children and teens respectively, while also reprising her role as the Recreations Coordinator, essentially acting as an advisor to the student leaders, not to mention restarted her training as an X-Man with remarkable ease, in spite of her own problems.

Regardless that we had exhausted countless medicinal strategies, radiation techniques and even hypnotic treatments after numerous consultations with Hank, the wide series of methodologies had proven ineffective to restore Jubilee's memories.

Not to mention our research to reverse engineer the unprecedented brain wipes had hardly seen any meaningful progress to be of assistance, neither did a single photo of Raven or Kurt aid to provoke any nostalgia, but her inherent optimistic character evidently deterred the repeated setbacks from truly disheartening her.

Although we were all originally discouraged, and even frustrated, by the sheer lack of improvement in her odd situation, the excellent bravery and extraordinary positivity she possessed starkly influenced the rest of us, likewise banishing our inevitable disappointments beyond the horizon.

Consequently, we strived to contain our eagerness, despite our haste and urgency to uncover the devastating mystery descending upon that unfortunate day, and graciously granted Jubilee a leisurely road to recovery. The unmediated healing of her brain was an admittedly slow process, given the abnormalities and complexities of her injuries, but it was our last and only resort, to allow nature to take its course.

No matter how torturous it threatened to be, we stood resolute as a family, enduring the endless journey together, and eventually, we all became accustomed to the waiting.

The school operations resumed in a routine manner and daily activities proceeded normally until a recent disturbance not elicited by Jubilee's strange state of amnesia manifested within the walls of the house.

Sitting distractedly in my chair, I stared blankly at the documents presented on my desk as the zealous voices of Jean and Jubilee resonated melodiously to my eardrums, albeit not actually registering a single word of their avid articulations.

Deviating totally from the envisioned agenda of this meeting, my preoccupied mind wandered into an obscure distance, helplessly focusing on drastically nastier scenes. Unpleasantly identical to every other incident that surfaced on an erratic and unpredictable basis, the virtual disaster haunted me relentlessly.

Cruelly appalling and infinitely intimidating, the impending tragedy only amplified the fears it instilled with the fact that it could seemingly materialise into reality any time soon, noticeably compromising my attention span, additionally crippling my work performance to a considerable extent.

"Lynn!" Jean exclaimed anxiously, suddenly jarring me, and I jolted in my seat, glancing down at her adjacent crouching frame panically.

"Is everything alright?" Jean probed softly, her green eyes overflowing with concern undeniably warranted by my mindless behaviour prevailing over the past week, as she conscientiously rubbed my back to soothe my accelerated breathings evoked by her inadvertent scare.

"I'm just a little tired," I dismissed lethargically, pressing hard on my tensed nose bridge where a dull pain was throbbing unceasingly.

"I'm sorry, what were you girls talking about?" I enquired in a disoriented tone, looking at them confusedly.
