Charles' POV

Morning rays marking the start of a fresh weekend peeked through the crevices of the thick velvety curtains, scattering a warm glow of exquisite patterns across our room as the sun gradually rose.

While the ceiling and walls were painted enchantingly in an energetic orange hue that naturally grew into fader tones as the seconds ticked by, nothing was powerful enough to distract my gaze from the beauty of her face even when it was casted into the shadows with her back towards the window.

Lynn laid peacefully in my embrace, our positions remarkably similar to when we both dozed off with her dislocated wrist still safely propped atop a fluffy pillow and my arms still cozily curled around her lean frame. She was completely motionless apart from her regular chest rises and that delicate yet stunning smile twitched onto her lips simply made her look angelic, especially with the magnificent shine back lighting her face.

Despite its terrible origin, a heartfelt smile spread on my face as I noticed her fringe almost entirely bleached to that oddly charming shade of blonde. Gently grazing my fingers through the pale locks, I tucked them neatly behind her ear and basically marvelled at her elegant features until they stirred slightly on her face.

"Honestly, that's creepy," Lynn murmured sleepily, albeit sporting a delightful grin, as she caught me staring at her when she weakly fluttered her eyes open.

"Honestly, it's a wondrous view," I countered teasingly, pecking her forehead dotingly and she giggled, blushing adorably.

"And so are you," she flattered, reciprocating a kiss to my lower jaw.

"What time is it?" She probed, squinting her eyes around the brightly illuminated surroundings.

Carefully peeling myself off Lynn, I arched my back and stretched over, getting a glimpse to the sparkly face of my Rolex sitting on the nightstand.

"Five past eight, my love," I informed, cautiously flipping myself back to face her.

"I slept through?" Lynn prodded, sounding amazed at her own accomplishment undeniably promoted by both of our extreme exhaustions.

"That wasn't so bad, was it?" I commended, stroking her hair proudly.

Smiling widely in appreciation, Lynn rolled over towards me but the acute throbbing in her damaged joint reenacted without mercy, relentlessly shooting through our arms in reaction to its marginal movement in her haphazard endeavour of snuggling up to me. She instinctively pressed her skull hard against my chest and both of us gasped, but held in most of the sharp breath to curb the escape of reflexive grunts threatening to spill as if the lack of it would convince the other that we were not just being unpleasantly tortured.

"It is now," Lynn refuted, mustering a joking tone, as both us aimed to contain our grimacing expressions.

"Pop me two, please, will you, Charles?" She requested strenuously as she squeezed her eyes shut.

"Alright, love. Just stay still and relax," I advised, tenderly resting her head to the pillow and dragged myself into a sitting posture.

Fetching her container of pills and a small bottle of water from atop the bedside cabinet, I set them randomly onto my lap and prudently inclined her back, ensuring to minimize motion to her wounded limb. Allowing her to lounge comfortably onto my chest, I placed the tablets into her shaky palm and she swiftly dunked them into her mouth, gulping down some fluids to flush them through to her system.

"You'll need some food with that. Let's get dressed and have some breakfast, shall we?" I suggested earnestly, gently petting her head as she remained sprawled lethargically against my torso.
