I woke up the next morning with a text from Lucas.
Lucas: You're getting it soon, yesterday was not funny XD
Me: Mkayyyy lol
I lyric pranked him yesterday, now I apparently am going to get payback.
It smelt like pancakes downstairs, my mom must have the day off. I hopped out of bed and made my way downstairs.
"Good morning." My mom smiles.
"Morning." I say and grab a plate.
There were two pancakes and three pieces of bacon on my plate once I sat down.
"Mom, guess what I did yesterday?" I say and laugh a bit.
"What?" She asked curiously.
"I lyric pranked Lucas with breakup/ cheating lyrics. It was so funny." I laugh.
"You seem to be spending a lot of time with Lucas lately." My mom trails off.
"Well we're dating and best friends. I've been spending time with my other friends, too." I shrug.
"Alright." She said quietly.
We sat in silence for a while.
"Sam?" My mom asked before I went upstairs.
"Uh huh?" I ask and spin around on my heels.
"I want to talk to you." She said and motioned towards her.
That's never good. I immediately felt my face rush with heat, trying to think of something I could've possibly done wrong.
"As you get older, as you already know, you start becoming closer to boys. Well, you got yourself a little boyfriend that you love, and I'm perfectly okay win that. I'm happy, even, that he got you to open your shell a little bit and get your mind away from volleyball. Although, you're spending a lot more time together than any of Haley's high school boyfriends. I can't help but wonder..." She trailed off.
"What?" I encourage her to finish her sentence.
"You're still a, um, well, a virgin? Right?" She asked.
"Mom!" I felt heat rush to my cheeks in an immediate blush.
"Well?" She asked.
"Of course! I just allowed my self to have a boyfriend, you really think within four months I'd have sex?" I say.
"Well, I know you two have had sleepovers and stuff and I was just wondering. I would've been disappointed a little, but I'm mostly concerned you were protected." She surrendered.
"Mom, listen. I'm smart. I'm not going to lose my virginity until probably college. When I do, though, I'm not stupid. I'll be fine." I say embarrassed.
"Alright, alright." She sighed.
"I'm going to go shopping with Tay." I say after an awkward period of silence.
"Okay, have fun." Mom smiled as if that whole conversation hadn't even happened.
