There and Back Again {On Hold}

Karkat's POV

I was about to walk upstairs to check on john when someone knocked on the door.
Being halfway up the stairs I walked back down to answer it, knowing good and well dad probably had cake batter all over his hands...

"Fucking batter witch..." I mumbled to myself as I opened the door.

There stood terezi and nepeta...oh god...

"Um hey?" I said confusion laced my voice

"Hey karkles!" Yelled terezi. Wait...terezi??
Why is she here...and why is cat girl standing behind her?

"Rezi?" I questioned. "How and why are you here?"

"We wanted to see if you wanted to come to the park!" Said nepeta.

"I can't exactly go right no-" nepeta pulled me out of my house and dragged me along the pavement.

"I want you to meet the rest of my crew!" Cackled terezi.
"There's more??" I questioned once again.

"Yep! There's equius, gamzee, eridan, and feferi!" She asnswered as we walked.

I shot a quick text to dad telling him where I was going so he wouldn't freak out at my sudden disappearance.

When we got to The park, tavros and vriska were sitting and chatting with four other people.

"Guys!" Yelled rezi. "This is the guy I was telling you about!"

Nepeta latched herself onto my arm and pulled me over.

I'm not really appreciating being a rag doll today!

As soon as we got over she detached herself.
"Equius!" She hugged a buff looking guy with cracked sun visors. "I thought you weren't coming?"

I started to ignore her conversation with the buff one when vriska started introducing me.

She pointed to the buff one first, "that's equius. He's obsessed with horses and milk."
She then pointed to a guy in hipster glasses, with a purple streak going through his hair.
"That eridan, aka fish puns"

She pointed to a Latino with black hair and gold earnings.
"Thats feferi, aka fish puns' girlfriend"

And last sh pointed to a guy with really wild hair.
"And that's gamzee....hes just fucking weird..."

Gamzee put his arm around me. "What is up my invertabrother? Its nice to all up and meet ya"

What the fuck is he saying??

We stayed at the park for about two or three hours, and I got to know everyone better.

It was eventful. Eridan and feferi were making out the whole time.
Vriska almost pushed tavros in front of a moving car.
Equius was sweating for some odd reason.
Nepeta wouldn't quit staring at me...creepy.
And me gamzee and terezi just ended up talking under the slide.

We talked about our home lives...poor Gam...his dad is so drunk most of the time. He doesn't even realize he's there.
His older brother died in a house fire...that I can relate to.

But he's cheery as ever...I wonder how he does it.

It was starting to get dark so we all decided to head home. Terezi, I found out lives pretty close, and she walked me home.

"So your friends.." I began.
"Yeah I know...they're all weird." She finished for me.
"But they make me feel like I belong."

I smiled. I knew that feeling.

"Wait..how did you even know where I live??" I asked.
"Nepeta followed your bus home." She answered.
I gave her a creeped out look.

"Y'know...she has like, the biggest crush on you...shes really sweet... I think you should give her a chance." She smiled.

"Sorry...but no can do..I'm taken." I said, remembering those stoic shades.

"Taken?? By who?" She questioned.

"Uhhumm...h-his name is Dave..."

She gasped. "Holy crap! I knew it!" She yelled.
"Knew what??" I came back defensively.
"YOUR GAY!" she screamed.

I felt my face get hot. "S-shut up..."

"I bet you even liked sollux!" She yelled so loudly, I bet everyone could hear her.

"No! I didn't! I found out I was gay when I moved in with the egberts!" I yelled, a little louder then her.

A little old lady who was working in her garden started staring at us.
I waved and pretended that we weren't making a scene.

I turned around to face terezi. "Ok I'm gay!I know! Everyone in the neighborhood knows it now too!" I whispered.
"Heh sorry Sargent grumpy.." She chuckled.

I sighed and waved to her as I walked inside.

I walked into the kitchen and it was empty but there was a note on the table:

Dear boys,
I'm working the night shift tonight. There's left over pizza in the fridge. You guys know how to use the oven.
And karkat you better not be home after dark.
                    Love dad

I read the note slowly.
Well looks like its just me and john here tonight.

Speaking of john...where is he?

I walked up the stairs and saw that his door was closed.

Oh fuck...I forgot he was upset.

I knocked on his door.

Silence.
