"It was weighing down my heart and I couldn't breath. I was drowning."

[2 months later]

Veronica.

I was sitting in the back garden for the past hour just reading. Things hadn't happened so I wasn't as scared anymore. If anything I felt safe again, even got a lot closer to Shawn.

There's points where I feel like this was all too good to be true. That one moment Shawn was going to shut me out or go back to being his old self. That scared me and made me more cautious because I felt like my feelings for him were so deep.

I got pulled out of my reading when I heard crunching of the leaves. I looked up to see Shawn walking over with his hands behind his back. He was dressed in a suit which only meant we were going somewhere.

He had that charming smile of his as he walked over, "Hey there." I say.

"Hey Ace, thought I'd find you out here." He said as he walked around the tree.

When he walked around his back and hands were always facing away from me. What on earth was he hiding? I laughed as I seen him walk around.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

He then stopped right in front of me and bent down, "We have to go to this music party."

"Okay? But what does that have to do with you walking around me?" I laughed.

He smiled before pulling out a box, a perfectly small black velvet box. My air got caught in my throat. My heart was beating fast.

"Shawn?" I said questioningly.

He chuckled, "Okay I know what it might look like but that's not it. Just open it."

I smiled and kind of relieved it wasn't what I thought it was. Not that it would be so bad but we've only known each other for a little while. That and we don't really know each other that well.

I took the box from him and looked up at him and smiled before opening it. I laughed a little when I seen it, I picked up the chain till it was out of the box.

"Now I know it's not some cheesy necklace but I thought you'd appreciate it." He chuckled.

I looked at the little charm that hung on the silver necklace. It was a little rectangle that had an A on it and on each corner of the rectangle was a heart, a spade, a club, and a diamond.

"I love it." I say before looking up at him.

He smiled, "Good, glad to know you're not that hard to spoil." He joked.

I rolled my eyes, "Doesn't mean a girl doesn't appreciate it but I really don't need material."

He nodded his head, "Good to know, now you need to get ready."

He helped me up to my feet and took the necklace from me. He offered to put it on me and I nodded, I grabbed all my hair in one hand giving him access. He looped his hands around my neck with the necklace. His hands brushing my skin making my skin heat up.
