It's been two days since I ran out the hospital. Hearing those words "I'm sorry Sir" made my heart churn. I haven't eaten, slept or gotten out of bed. I can't even think straight. My baby, my Kim, the love of my life laying there collapsed on the bed.
Everytime I close I see those scenes play in my head.I came home to A.J. looking frantic. I haven't even told her what happened. I just stormed upstairs to my room. Never came out.
"Kiiimmm" I sobbed.
---
It's one thing being in this house but it is another when Kim is gone. Ever since Khi came back from the hospital. He hasn't left his room. You can hear him sobbing.
The house hasn't been the same. You would think that I wouldn't miss her but I do. The hospital been calling but Khi told me to never pick up the phone because "I already know what they are going to tell me", so he says.
I have school tomorrow but I don't know what I am going to do.
-------
Beep. Beep. Beep.
I groaned, trying to see if I can shut the alarm off. I moved my arms around trying to figure out why I am so stiffed. I tried opening my eyes only to meet a bright light."Uhh. What is going on" I bat my eyes a little more trying to figure out what I am doing here.
I looked around to see I'm strapped to a hospital bed. I can't seem to remember what is going on.
I tried to move as much as possible, trying to remove these things off my body. I must have triggered something because the beeping noise got louder.
"HELLOOO" I screamed. Then a handsome nurse ran in.
" Ma'am I'm going to need you to calm down please" he spoke softly.
" I am okay. I just need to get out. What the hell am I doing in a hospital?"
"Okay. I'll go get the doctor hold on." The nurse ran out.
I wonder how I got here. I can't seem to understand why I am here.
The last thing I remember is a was at work having a great time and I guess I had a little bit too much and I passed out.
Then walks in a doctor.
"I'm glad to see your awake Mrs. Smith."
"Whose Mrs. Smith?"
"Oh um that's your name when your husband dropped you here" she looked at the nurse saying.
"What husband? Look lady I think y'all have the wrong one. I am not married. I don't even have a boyfriend."
"Do you know how you got here?"
"Um no..."
"Alright um we will be back"
Then the doctor stepped outside. I looked at the nurse.
"Do you know how I got here?" I asked hoping I could get some answers.
"Um I'm not suppose to tell you but you tried to commit suicide"
I laughed when he told me this.
"Me.... commit suicide...... um you are mistaken. I live a great life. Why would I kill myself? You're insane." As I said this the doctor came in.
"Miss" as she looked at the clipped board. "Kim, we are gonna run some tests" then she turned to the nurse and told him quietly "make some phone calls and get someone down here instantly" she said to the nurse.
-----
Can't these people leave me alone! My wife is dead. I don't want to hear them tell me about it.
Ringggggggg!!! Rinnggg!!!
Sigh. I guess I got to pick it up.
"Hello" I said as dry as can be.
"Hello is this Mr. Smith?" The man on the other line said.
"Yes, this is he. Can I help you with something?" I snapped. Feeling irritated.
"Sir we need you to come but to the hospital it's in regards to your wife."
"Look I know she's dead you don't have to tell me"
"I'm sorry sir but you have the wrong information. Is your wife Kim Smith?"
"Yes she is and what's wrong" I grew hopeful and fearful at the same time.
"Sir your wife is alive, we need you to come in asap!"
Click.
I jumped for joy. Crying.
"Thank you God, I don't deserve it but thank you!" I cried.
I ran out to go get A.J.
"A.J.!!!" I screamed.
"Yes!" She said sounding like she was downstairs.
"We need to go! Now" I said sliding down the stairs. As we drove, A.J. Kept asking me all sort of questions but I was too filled with joy to answer them.
As we approached the hospital I got nervous feeling shy.
I walked in and went straight to the desk.
"I'm here to see my wife, Kim Smith"
"Uh sir let me get the doctor first" the nurse said.
"Hello Mr. Smith, I'm doctor Susan Abrams. Let's go into my office to discuss somethings. Who is this?" The lady pointed at A.J.
"This is my daughter, she is my daughter."
"Okay" the doctor said and led us to her office. "Have a seat" we sat.
"Now Mr. Smith could you tell me how has your wife been before she was emitted?"
"Well we were having problems, she's been depressed, upset, she stopped working and stuff. Then I came home yesterday and I..." I couldn't speak. The images of yesterday flew in my mind. I cleared my thought. "I found her on the bathroom with blood."
"Well Mr. Smith I want to inform you your wife is doing alright. Matter-of-fact, she is alive" the doctor smiled. "Now here's the issue. She seems to have lost her memory"
"I'm sorry what?!?" I hollered.
"I'm sorry sir but she has short-term memory lost. "
"Is that even common" A.J. Barked.
"No its rare, because not all suicide patients actually make it, you know. But I do know it can happen due to the amount of depression. It adds up to the brain."
"Can I see her?"
"Sure, but I do warn you it may not go how you want it to go"
"I just want to see her"
"Okay follow me."
We walked to the room where I left Kim. When I walked in.
