“This is a country song,” My manager said, “Are you sure about this?”
I nodded immediately, “It’s perfect! I fell in love with this song while I was writing it. I need to release it!”
“So you want to release a country album?”
“Yes! Country music is just so… raw. It’s raw and it’s real and it’s meaningful. This is the type of music that I need to release next.”
“If you’re sure then we can do it.”
“Really?” I smiled.
My manager smiled back at me, “This is your career, not mine.”
“I can’t wait to get started with this album!”
“What’s your plan?” my manager asked. “With school going on it’s going to be hard to juggle everything.”
“It’s fine,” I told her, “I am going to write and record in my spare time. Hopefully the album is done by spring break or winter break that way I can travel and promote it.”
“I just don’t want to see you become the next celebrity train wreck because you couldn’t handle the pressure.”
“I can handle it,” I assured her, “I know I can. Now that my name is out there I don’t want to just disappear, but I want to finish school too. This is the way I have to do it.”
“Then I’ll support you and I’ll make sure you never become a train wreck.”
I smiled, “Thank you.”
“Now let’s listen to this new song.”
“Okay!” I smiled.
I pulled out my guitar and tuned it before starting the song. It’s called Love Would Be Easy.
