It's just not fair
Pain's more trouble than love is worth
I gasp for air
It feels so good, but you know it hurts.
I kept my arm around Maria as we walked in school, “It’s okay. He’s just a guy in some of your classes. I got your back.”
She chuckled, “Thanks Kay.”
“No problem,” I smiled.
“I’m going to find Anastasia because she has my notes for first class.”
“I’m going to find Dylan. I’ll meet you there.”
“Hey Kayla!”
I turned around and smiled at my classmate Amy.
“Hey Amy, what’s up? You spent your summer on the boat with your dad right?”
She laughed, “I can’t believe you remember that. I told you that like six months ago.”
I shrugged, “I guess I have a good memory. How was it?”
“It was amazing actually, thanks for asking. I was wondering if you had science notes. I missed yesterday because I had an appointment.”
“Sure,” I took my notebook out of my bag and gave it to her.
“Thank you, you saved me. I’ll give it back to you in class.”
“Sounds good,” I nodded. “See ya.”
“Bye,” she waved.
I found Dylan in the hall talking to Jack. I walked right up to them and held Dylan’s hand. “Hi,” I smiled at him.
“I’m surprised you came to school,” he grinned.
I rolled my eyes, “So funny.”
“I know I am thanks.”
I shook my head and laughed, “I had a girl’s day but if anybody asks I was sick. Hey Jack.”
“Hey Kayla, I was just telling Dylan about getting into college in New York.”
“I heard,” I smiled, “Congratulations. That’s amazing, you must be really excited.”
“I am. I’m sure it’ll be pretty different from here.”
“Yeah it kind of is, but you’ll love it.”
“Thanks. Well I should get to class but I’ll talk to you guys later.”
“Bye.”
“Did you have a girl’s day because of Maria and Jack?” Dylan asked me.
I nodded, “She’s really upset.”
“He is too.”
“Then why did he do it?”
He shrugged, “He really doesn’t like the pressure of being in a long distance relationship. It’s the reason why his parents divorced. One parent was in one city and the other had a job that required a lot of traveling. The distance broke up their marriage.”
