Chapter 45: Work of Art
Come on let's write a song
A little poetry
Take a photograph
Let's make some memories
You can make it anything
That you want it to be
If you follow your heart
Life is a work of art. When I arrived at the school not many people were there, but a few of the LovatoIsLouder group was gathered in the main lobby area. Dylan and I sat next to each other on one of the benches. Demi, David, Maria, Jack, and Anastasia were the first ones here and the rest quickly arrived.
“Does everyone know what’s going on now?” I asked them and looked around at their nodding heads.
“I need ideas,” I told them; “I need events, fundraisers, and anything we can do to continue bringing this school back together so Zack and Damen can’t hurt us.”
“I thought of something last night,” Maria said.
“Go ahead,” I nodded.
“Let’s have a dance,” she suggested, “Not a dance where we crown a king and queen, but a dance where we can all just have fun. Anastasia had a great suggestion instead of the crowning thing too.”
“I saw something online,” Anastasia told us, “and I think we should hang pictures of everyone in the school around the gym and we can type compliments about them on there. At the end of the dance everyone can take their own picture home.”
“That’s a great idea!” I smiled.
“What about the bullies?” Demi asked.
“I thought of something for that,” Jack said. “Let’s laminate the pictures and compliments and the chaperones for the dance can walk around and monitor them making sure nobody messes them up.”
“Good,” I nodded, “Any other ideas? I’ll ask the principal about the dance today.”
“Before Christmas break throw a big carnival,” Demi said. “It would be a good way to celebrate the end of the semester and the beginning of break.”
“I love that,” Maria smiled.
“Me too,” everyone seemed to nod in agreement.
“Okay,” I continued, “now what about every day during school? We can’t bring each other together by throwing events all the time.”
