IN REAL LIFE
ZAY
outside Smackle's house, in New York. What? She disappeared?
"SMACKLE!" I shouted out again, as the raindrops fell on my already drenched face.
I was on the verge of tears. And I never, ever cry.
The only girl I've ever truly liked was ignoring me.
"Please, just come dow—" I was cut off when I heard her gentle voice again.
"Zay..."
I turned to the left to see Smackle with a huge umbrella.
She quickly walked over to me and carried the umbrella over my head, tilting it more to my side so half of her body was getting wet.
I moved it back to her so it covered that half of her body, and said, "You came down..."
"Did you think I was gonna let you get wet here because you're so foolish to wait down here for like 2 hours?"
"Though... though that happened." She continued.
"Smackle, no... what you saw wasn't everything that you think it i—" Smackle interrupted me.
"Then why? Why did you hug her? When you knew I was right there? I haven't even held your hand before, let alone hug you, yet you were so willing to go hug Ma—" This time, I cut her off.
By pressing my lips to hers.
We stood there for a few seconds, before pulling away again.
"Woa— woah," Smackle said, blushing immediately.
"Smackle, I— I only hugged Maya as a friend. She brought me something I needed for school, which I would've gotten scolded for if I didn't have it... so I hugged her to show her my appreciation, not as someone I like. YOU are the one I like, Smackle. YOU are the only girl I would cry over. YOU are the one I want to be with," My throat was dry, as I spoke in a low and deep voice.
"I... I'm sorry, Zay. I guess I really overreacted... and I'm really sorry..." she apologized profusely.
"It's okay, I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have done there especially with you there... which reminds me - why did you actually come over?" I tried to speak loudly to be louder than the rain which was getting heavier. Honestly, why were we even standing in the rain?
But as long as I'm with her, I'm fine with anything.
"I... I wanted to ask you... to, uh, be my— uh, go out—, um..." she blushed as she struggled to find the words to say.
Oh my freakin god. She was gonna ask me to be her boyfriend. Oh my god.
I decided to torture her by laughing, and answering with a sly grin, "What was that?"
Smackle shot me a death glare, then blurted out, "I wanna go out with you."
AWWWWW.
"I've waited 729349 years for you to say that," I grinned as I carried her up and spun her around in the rain.
She giggled loudly as she kept protesting, "Put me down!"
I chuckled and continued spinning her around, the rainwater on the umbrella splashing all around us.
After a few more spins, I finally stopped.
"You know, the piece of paper was part of a present I made for you... and it broke just now... I'm so sorry, and I should probably go make it again..." Smackle said sheepishly.
