LUCAS
at the most scenic place in El Paso.It was a hill. A mountain. The place I was talking about, the one with amazing scenery. People would have to slowly climb to the summit of the mountain and be blessed with the great views. You could look down at the city, the roads, the lights on one side, and the villages and farms on the other. Best of all, you could see the sunset super clearly, and that's the most important thing I loved about the place.
Maya liked drawing views, as I've seen on her Instagram, and her art is amazing.
I'm sure she'll be here. Where else could she have gone in El Paso? I've searched almost everywhere.
I packed water and some food in my backpack, and started my hike.
As I walked, I noticed that there were few people around me. Probably because of the fact that it had just rained and the ground was all muddy.

It's been an hour and a half, and I'm a few hundred metres away from the summit.
I could see the rays of the sun shining through the spaces between the leaves of the trees, and covered my eyes to shield them from the glaring sun.
I walked even faster, wanting to find Maya as soon as possible. My shoes were muddy and walking faster didn't help the situation of my shoes, but I did it anyway.
Yes! Almost there!
I started running, seeing how near I was getting. From where I was, I saw that there was only one or two people up there.
There was a middle-aged man doing exercise against a bench, an... and a...
"Maya!"
It was her. It was her sitting on the railing, with a sketchbook and a few colour pencils, her backpack on the floor. She was looking towards the sunset, and then looking down to try mixing the red and orange colours to form the colour of the sunset.
I ran as quickly as I could towards the sheltered area, and hugged the blonde artist.
"What!" Maya shouted in shock.
I wrapped my arms tightly around her waist, and felt her turn to look at who the hell hugged her out of nowhere.
"Lu— lucas..?" she stammered.
"Oh my god, Maya. I'm so glad you're safe. I'm so glad I found you."
Tears were on the verge of falling from my eyes as Maya stroked my hair.
"Wow, huckleberry. How the hell did you find me?" she asked.
"Riley told us you had always wanted to come here, and I found out you loved drawing views. Given that this is the place most people come to for the scenery, I guessed you would be here. It was the last possible place in this state anyway," I told her, continuing to hug her.
She was taller than me because she was sitting on the railing, so her waist was the height of my shoulders. She wrapped her arms around my head for a while, and then pulled away.
Maya looked at me with her sky blue eyes and asked, "You mean you searched the whole state for me?"
I nodded and smiled sheepishly. Too obsessed with her?
She laughed and mocked me, "You must be SO obsessed with me, cowboy."
She reads my mind.
I laughed and look down. "I'm really, really glad I found you. You have no idea how worried I was about you."
"Well, you shouldn't have been. I've been here the whole time, and I planned on sleeping here tonight, too," she laughed a little.
"You crazy? There are bears in the forest! C'mon, let's go back to my house," I said.
Maya looked at me, shocked. "What? No! What if your parents think we're gonna get married or something?"
"Aren't we gonna one day?" I smirked at her, bending down to pick her bag up and carry it.
I then surprised her by placing my hands under her ass and her armpits, carrying her up.
"This is how we're gonna enter during our wedding," I told her, as I sashayed like a typical popular girl in school, carrying her on my arms and starting to trek down the mountain, her laughing her ass off.

I swung open the door to my house, and was greeted with the smell of chicken. Mum was cooking chicken for dinner tonight!
"Hey mum!" I shouted.
I kicked off my muddy shoes, and invited Maya in. Unlike her usual self, she was slightly timid, as if she didn't know what to expect of my parents.
"Hello, honey! Who's the girl behind?" Mum said when she turned to look up at us.
"Um... hi, auntie! I'm... I'm Maya," she introduced herself.
"Just call me Lucy," Mum smiled gently at her.
Maya got her shoes off, and then I signaled for her to follow me upstairs, so she did.
"You can stay in this empty room tonight! You can go in to settle down and stuff. My room's right beside yours, so just come over to mine if you need anything," I pointed towards the guest room, and she went in, turning on the lights.
"Thanks, Lucas, for letting me stay here," she said and smiled.
I smirked at her again. "Wow, you called me by my first name for once."
She then pretended to be threatening and said, "Appreciate it, huckleberry."
"And the woman I love is back," I teased her, and then walked to my room.
I closed my door, then heard hers close as well.
Never had I imagined that one day, I would be in the a room right beside the love of my life. Okay, maybe I had. You know, since I dream about us all the time. And our wedding. And us living so close to each other.
There was just one wall separating the two of us, and I leaned against it.
I'm so thankful to have her back again. And that I ever met her.
