Chapter XII
May 10, 2012She was so nervous. Would it work? What if she gets trapped in time or somewhere in between then and now? What even is between then and now? What if it fails? What if it's not real and she's just gone crazy?
She texted Gil that morning. She told him she's better. She asked if he's doing fine. It's Dylan's death anniversary. They both lost him that day. He said he's better, too. Better but not 100% fine. That's okay.
"Time heals all wounds," she texted him back. "Pun intended," she thought as she walked to her station.
"I will leave this timeline. I need him more than time, more than logic, more than sanity. I need him."
She wiped away her tears, opened her eyes as wide as she can and looked for rifts. If she doesn't see one, she'd just go for it. The doors of the train opened. He wasn't there. She prepared to run and waited. Just as the doors are about to close, a flicker of silver almost too quick for everyone to see appeared in the slowly closing space within the doors. She didn't see it but she ran.
A hand reached out to grab her.
"That's dangerous."
